switchIO
Ok, so I've more mods than I know what to do with. That being said, it all worked fine until I swapped out my HD 3650 for a 5870. Before I would get the occasional freeze during game play, but now I can't even get to the menu screen before It locks up. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar problem. bben46
After changing any hardware, and especially a Video card, you MUST regenerate the Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini files. These store information on your hardware for the game and need to be updated before it will work. It still thinks you have your old video card and is confused. They are located in - Vista & Win7 C:\users\your user name\My documents\My Games\Fallout3.WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My documents\My Games\Fallout3.Just rename them or delete them. Then start the game and it will automatically regenerate new ones based on the hardware it finds.
