Adesa
I recently reinstalled my Oblivion after I left it for quite some time. I reinstalled after I found out one of my Shivering Isle component is missing. After I reinstalled it, I couldn't reload my old saves, as it crashes while loading. Every single one was like that, it used to work before the reinstall I could make a new game though, and it works perfectly fine. I've looked for solutions, but no one gave a straight answer, some called it a corrupt save game, but it didn't show the usual "your save game is corrupt" message. It still loads, but crashes soon after. Is there anyway I could restore the savegames? I really don't want to make a new character if possible. I've also tried the "uncorrupter" in the sticky, but it didn't work :pinch: I'm so sorry if this question had been asked before, if there's already a topic about this could you kindly post a link instead?Thank you very much
David Brasher
You could try to make that one component of Shivering Isles be missing again. If you could get the exact same mod list as you had when playing those incompatible saves, then you should be able to play them again. But sometimes you just can't transfer a character played with one set of software to a build with another set of software and have it work. AlfredTetzlaff
Hi,http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368should help you identify missing mods. This Utility can do a lot more things, don't be afraid of it :) But first of all, before you do anything to your Savegames, make a Backup!
Adesa
First of all, I thank you who have replied to my topic and offered their help. I did what you guys told and used the wrye bash to match the mod load order exactly and it worked wonders! I could finally played my old character again!I can't thank you guys enough! but something's bothering me though, if what made the crash was a change to the load order, does that mean I can't add a new mod because it will change the load order again?I haven't had time to test it out myself though... I hope my this topic could help anyone who encountered the same problem as I did.
