For some reason, my mod is causing Double Attribute points, and I don't know how to fix it.

Much much more information needed friend ;)

What kind of mod is it, what files are you changing/modifying, stuff like that.

I probly wouldnt be able to figure out the problem, but with more info, some of the more talented modders around here might ;)

Good luck :)

Sorry, I wasn't sure what could cause it, so I omitted everything.

What I'm modding:

I'm creating items for my character to use, weapons, armor, accessories, and books.

I didn't modify any existing items, I made new ones. Also made a custom material for them, so I'm not sure if this is happening because I used the material on my accessories.

All items are added by the "runscript" command so I don't think anything is wrong there.

1 pt = 2 pts is what I'm getting. It happens both in the game and when I make a new character. If I deactivate the mod, it goes away.

Example:

Strength is 11 if I add 1 point to it it will be 13 instead of 12.

Remove the files that deal with the attribute books and see what happens (don't delete them, just move them somewhere other than your override - a folder on your desktop should suffice.) Another possibility is you assigned an item an "Activated Ability" attribute like "ITEM_ATTRIBUTE_POINT" which has the potential to cause the problem.

You wouldn't by chance running the "Wildkin adept blue mage monster casting mod" would you? I had that issue running that mod too. I was waiting for Orglove to fix the issue....maybe it has been fixed with one of the updates.

I have the same thing happening --- Sort of.

In my case, (1) Point also counts as (2) as it is being applied to the Attributes.

But...

I only get the three points to distribute every other time I Level-Up!

So over two promotions, it's a wash.

Not sure which mod is causing it. Might be "GT Core Rules Fixpack". Might be another one.

But since it evens out, I haven't worried about it.

I'll try moving the files, but they aren't in my override folder, they're in my Addins folder.

It is best to move just the needed files from your addins folder to a folder in your override. Your way works but it has a greater potential for problems. I'm not saying that it is causing your problem (it is possible but unlikely) but it can cause other conflicts due to the order loaded.
