gabeq224
Hello, first time modder here. So I downloaded a few mods with NMM. Everything seemed to be going hunky dory. When I actually tried to start playing F:NV I could get to the initial start menu (the one that says play game) but every time I try to start the game it would immediately crash with a window popping up saying "windows is checking for solutions" or whatever. The mods I have are the extra texture pack, EVE, and Nevada skies. Oh by the way it was able to run just fine before I started trying to mod it. KimberJ
Just guessing, do you have NVSE installed, those mods might require it. We use script extenders on these Bethesda games. What it does is provides a launcher that will patch the game as it's launching. So a .exe that launches a .exe. It still launches the same game .exe it just patches it as it's launching to accept scripted commands not provided by the basic SDK. Most of it is commands we need to do stuff that professional developers don't worry about due to time constraints as well as certification requirements of console games. Maybe eve needed some commands to make effects or maybe NS needed custom commands to do weather stuff. The basic process is experience installing mods, an you're going to fail at that as you learn. Then reading the mod descriptions, as much as you can take, an even then going back an working hard to understand what it going on. There are however guides to learning how to mod a beth game. look in pinned topics or meh just wing it. takes time to learn though.
