erikwong
Hi everyone, I would like to ask which between Qwinn's Fixpack and Improved Atmosphere Mod is better in solving bug problems? Thank you for your help.
Thandal
QFP attempts to do one thing, fix what the author considered bugs or mistakes-in-the-coding of the original game. IA does some of that as well, but was primarily an attempt to extend the game's immersion in ways the author thought needed some... help. I like both, but have decided that IA caused me too many problems down-the-line with my saves, so I am not using it any more. As far as "fixes" go, I'm currently running with "QFP", "Dialogue Tweaks", "Morrigan Restoration Pack", "Zevran Dialogue Fix (for MRP)", "Gatekisses", "Epilogue Slide Fixes", and "GT Core Rules Fixpack - BETA". Let me say that the first time seeing Shale's "Rock Barrage" actually work was fantastic! So far I haven't had any problems. (Maybe, occasionaly, a little lag. Perhaps. It's hard to tell what might be causing it.)
XTR3M368
This is from a compatibility standpoint. Using the DA rules fix pack wreaks havok on some custom mods like "Wildkin adept monster casting" by making the talents/spells invisible/not usable. I had to delete quite a few of the rules fix pack folders (more than half) to get various other 3rd party mods to work. I have 63 installed DAzips, 9 Override zips, and 30+ "drop this in your override folder" type mods and IA has the best compatibility of the 2 in my game. It also makes getting the quest items more worth it with better stats. I remember playing without IA and thinking "Is that it? for all of that work? ". The others are right that they do different things, but I have found IA to be FAR more compatible with all the mods I am running and improves the immersion into the game...IMHO. erikwong
By the way, can I install BOTH?
Thandal
By the way, can I install BOTH?Sure. Please report back what breaks! Seriously, you can do that. You might even want to do that. As I noted, I have both QFP and "Core Rules Fixpack" installed. But you'll definitely want to read the documentation for any fixpack you're installing and determine if you have multiple fixes for the same issue, and if you can selectively install portions so as to minimize the opportunities for problems. a) The game can only handle one set of instructions for a given situation. Sometimes that means one the the duplicates is ignored, sometimes it means a crash! b) You may have a tough time telling which fix is causing behavior you like (or behavior you don't like.) c ) When you install your NEXT mod, you'll have that much more to potentially conflict with the new stuff. Welcome to the world of the über-modder. You'll find quite a few of us here.

XTR3M368
I have both installed. Like I said, I did have to do quite a bit of weeding in the fix pack folders for compatibility.....I might have to do more as I get more mods. Welcome to the world of the über-modder. You'll find quite a few of us here.Yep, that about sums it up.
