Annoyance Removal Mod + Gameplay Improvement Ideas

Oh I was wondering why nobody was answering the thread... turns out moved threads don't show the reply count in the original forum...

I feel silly now.

At any rate, I shall update the OP with those great points.

Bit of an out-of-character, but no class restrictions on the environmental effects such as "Bash", "Energize" and lockpicking etc. I want to run around with a full group of mages but I can't if everytime I find a locked door I have to change the group around!

That was already in the list. To remain lore-friendly I propose the Inquisitor alone be allowed to do this by using the Anchor for 'Energize' actions if one is not a Mage.

Well there already is a tactical combat like Origins, so I suppose if someone fixed the problem with the camera, that won't be a problem. I'm not sure if this feature already exists, but I believe there is an option to enter tactical combat whenever you engage the enemy. So, technically, this should be feasible.

Now, I haven't spent a lot of time with DA:I's tactical combat, so not sure how different it is from Origins. (I guess being able to move the camera left and right with the mouse is something they need to add).

Health recovery during noncombat exploration. Bioware really, really doesn't like healing these days. No healing spells, hard (and low) cap on healing potions... and no regen when not in combat? Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. Does anybody think this was a good direction for them to go in? Really? Since the only way to heal up without consuming my itty bitty potion supply is to fast travel, and since the potion resupply chests are generally found only in camps and larger dungeons, I find myself warping around a lot more than I otherwise would. That means I see loading screens more. Which takes me out of the game and breaks immersion. Which is a bad thing, just to make that perfectly clear. A secondary consequence of all that warping around is that I hardly ever use the mounts I collect, because at that point it would be an inconvenience to mount up and ride all of fifty yards to my destination. I'm not using one feature because another seemingly unrelated feature wasn't included. Just to reiterate, this is a bad thing. It could be solved easily by either adding back in passive health regen out of combat, or by giving me a frakking heal spell.

This a million times!

I recently created a thread on the official Bioware suggestion forums requesting equippable items, such as rings etc. or armor upgrades.. or runes.. that provided slow, passive out of combat health regen.

I didn't think such items would radically unbalance the gameplay in any way, or impact on the enjoyment of anyone else who preferred to play without health regen - however the idea was largely shouted down and argued against.

It seems that the majority of people (at least those on the BSN forums) think no health regen is the most wonderful thing ever and will fight tooth and claw to preserve it, even if it were entirely optional for those players who wanted it.

Personally I can't see what's so wonderful about playing with only a few health pots, and having to constantly trudge back to camp again, and again, and again, and again.. but there you go.

In terms of mods:

I have no idea if it would be even possible to mod the game so as to provide passive out of combat health regeneration, I don't know enough about modding to say.

But I was thinking... what about (as a kind of short-term workaround) someone creating a kind of everlasting regeneration potion? One that can be kept in your inventory and never depletes?

I know that it's possible to create everlasting potions, as a mod already exists which gives infinite uses to the respec potions.

Might be worth considering.
