kranecu
I played through morrowind and totally enjoyed the experience. I was very excited when oblivion came out, preordered and waited til midnight to get it right away but never could get into it. I am hoping that, with the mods that are out now, it could be a better experience but I would like some help. I would appreciate a list of mods that will fix the things I found... unfun... in Oblivion. (it will be a fresh re-install since I have deleted it from my pc) 1. Most importantly, I never felt like I was leveling because everything leveled with me. I have no problem not being able to go one place because of my low level. Nor do I have a problem with clearing out a dungeon with ease because of my uber awesomeness. I liked morrowind's feeling of gaining power and missed it with oblivion. I want a mod that hand-selects which mobs should be which level and sets them at that level and leaves them there. 2 and 3. In morrowind, I had a mod with a house in which I displayed all the wonderful armor sets and weapons I had collected. There were so many unique looking items with cool names and you really felt like you had acquired something when you got them. In Oblivion, everything seemed to look about the same. 100s of swords with different names and stats with the exact same look. So I guess I want a more unique variety of armor and weapon skins and a mod for a house to put them in. 4. I've seen that there are many graphic mods and I'm quite sure my pc can handle any graphics mods available... but which one (or which ones) should I get? 5. INVENTORY! My biggest beef with most rpgs is the need to try to have realism with inventory. Like I could possibly carry 5 full sets of plate armor and 10 weapons and still run and fight anyway. It's unrealistic anyway, so let me carry as much as I want. I remember when I played before, I cheated my strength to be able to carry more. I don't want to do that. I just want to be able to carry everything I find. 6. I assume I will also need additional patches and bugfixes so I would like those too. 7. Any additional mods (mods I didn't know I needed) which make the game more fun or more like morrowind. All I can offer in return for a response is my gratitude and the promise that, if I can get back into Oblivion, I will finish it and purchase the expansions. Thank you in advance for your response. ps. links to mods would be awesome :)
welwork
Well, I don't use it bu OOO mod I think claims to change it for the leveling, look at that. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15256. I think the best mod is Midas Magic spells which adds a chest with seemingly infinite capacity that you cast a spell to open wherever you are (among other amazing spells), but you have to work to get it. There are countless other mods, just look on this site.
mhahn123
There are so many mods on tesnexus alone it is difficult to give specific pointers here. For the leveling Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul (OOO) would be an option. Francescos is the best I can think of for adding variety to weapons/armor and also has options built in for leveling. Enhanced Economy also has options built in for leveling if memory serves, and has a ton of other game alterations you may enjoy. Other great examples of weapon/armor collections that you have to work for: Nicoroshi Creations, AlexScorpion Sneaking Gear, Lost Paladins of the Divines, Morrigan Weapons and Armors (two separate mods), Pale Rider has several excellent weapon/armor collections (on tesnexus just type Pale Rider in the search box). For houses that add weapon/armor display there is a huge list of choices...one example is Aberwiin Manor...tons of display cases and the manor is located just outside Imperial City. My personal choice is to use mods that expand on existing homes, so you may want to get the official add ons right from the start. Mods such as Frostcrag Reborn and Battlehorn Castle Enhanced turn the official add ons into epic player homes. Better Benirus Manor, Arborwatch Basement, Skingrad Basement are fine examples of player home overhauls, display area and storage enhancements. You could also go with Reznod Mannequins which allows you to buy mannequins from shops and place in any home that has free space, mannequins can be equipped with any armor you choose to display. Imperial Furniture allows you to buy placeable furnishings (including display cases/weapon racks) that can also be used in any home, or outside the home. Not sure what you mean by graphic mods. There are things like Qarls Texture Pack III (QTP3) which converts most of the building/landscape textures to high resolution. MEAT does the same thing for all of the standard weapons and armor found in the game. Improved Fruits, Vegetables & Meats does the same for food items. For NPCs you can use things like TNR All Races Final, Improved Facial Textures, Facial Textures by Enayla which make huge improvements to non player character faces and all three can be used together. Cyrodiil NPC Remodeling Project (CNRP) has several mods that customize clothing/armor for factions in the game such as Fighters Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and guards in some of the cities. Mage Equipment does the same thing for the Mages Guild. I strongly suggest using Oblivion Mod Manager to install/uninstall mods and BOSS to set correct load order. Wrye Bash is also necessary to properly use some of the graphics mods and is a valuable tool for many other things. I could go on and on for hours. Hopefully this gives you a good starting point. Feel free to PM me if you need help or have questions.

Thank you in advance for your response. ps. links to mods would be awesome :) 1) Try OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) or, if you feel like getting really frustrated and smashing your computer, google FCOM 2) There are a thousand mods that add new weapons with new meshes and textures, just browse the weapons section. I know what you mean though - I have to admit I'm a bit of a collector myself, so I recommend Exnem's Runeskulls and Oblivion Collectible Cards for simple collectible item mods. 3) For placing them in your house you really gotta try Decorator Assistant and PiiP - Enhanced Grabbing 4) I actually made a guide for this... Oblivion Visual Overhaul my computer can't handle these 2 mods but you might want to try them: RAEVWD (Really Almost Everything Visible When Distant) and Better Cities 5) Meh... I do actually roleplay, so no cheats, but since I know what yah need here: Bag of Holding 6) Make sure you have Official Oblivion Patch - a lot of mods require it since they were writen for this game version and every other mod is compitable with it. Also, you are going to want to check out UOP (Unofficial Oblivion Patch) - I don't use it, but you wanted to know  - For installing mods, using the following tools (and reading their manuals, which you should for every mod) will save you a lot of headaches, I don't recommend installing anything without them: BOSS, Oblivion Mod Manager and Wrye Bash. I also recommend you get Obse 0018 and check it's website regulary for updates (I spelled regulary wrong, didn't I?) 7) Try Cobl (common oblivion libary). Also, just browse the files here a bit and find stuff that you want ;p Good luck getting into oblivion, it's a great game
jedcooper
@kranecu Grats, I also look for a comeback to Oblivion. So what I've done so far is play around with mods... Some recommendations are:(Still looking for a decent leveling addon though) For 4.) I recommendQARL's Texture Pack Redimized"Improved" Mods by miknmel1Enhanced Weather v1.44All Natural Some neat small addons: FOV Modifier v2.0 - Adjusts FOV correctly, fixes menu positions. Default FOV is 90. Quickstart v1.1 - For a quick start skipping the Tutorial Interface: DarNified UI v1.3.2 @others: How exactly is the OOO leveling built? Can someone please give a short answer?! I've already read through its readme and quickstarts, but can't see a change in leveling but slowing all down and modifying mob levels. It is even pointing you should use the 5/5/5 level-technique to get a chance ingame. Any other custom level stuff around? I think FCOM is too much of a hassle to install... thabasszist
I know what you mean bro, but when it comes to stuff for inventory the Bag of Holding is the s***! I don't personally consider it a cheat since if you think about it, there are so much magic in that type of world why couldn't there an actual magical bag? Anyway mods I like and suggest using: A takes AllAC's realistically priced clutterBetter gem pricingDenock ArrowDrop lit torchesIllumination withinKeychain v5Landmarks with WellsLouder Nirnroot soundNatural Environments/FacesNo Psychic GuardsQuest Award LevellerVagabond's Better Gold -Sorry for not putting the URL's but I'm lazy at the moment and all you have to do is type them in at tesnexus anyways. There are a few more mods I would suggest if I could remember the names, they're on my other computer. But anyways bro, I hope this helps!
