kranecu
I played through morrowind and totally enjoyed the experience. I was very excited when oblivion came out, preordered and waited til midnight to get it right away but never could get into it. I am hoping that, with the mods that are out now, it could be a better experience but I would like some help. I would appreciate a list of mods that will fix the things I found... unfun... in Oblivion. (it will be a fresh re-install since I have deleted it from my pc) 1. Most importantly, I never felt like I was leveling because everything leveled with me. I have no problem not being able to go one place because of my low level. Nor do I have a problem with clearing out a dungeon with ease because of my uber awesomeness. I liked morrowind's feeling of gaining power and missed it with oblivion. I want a mod that hand-selects which mobs should be which level and sets them at that level and leaves them there. 2 and 3. In morrowind, I had a mod with a house in which I displayed all the wonderful armor sets and weapons I had collected. There were so many unique looking items with cool names and you really felt like you had acquired something when you got them. In Oblivion, everything seemed to look about the same. 100s of swords with different names and stats with the exact same look. So I guess I want a more unique variety of armor and weapon skins and a mod for a house to put them in. 4. I've seen that there are many graphic mods and I'm quite sure my pc can handle any graphics mods available... but which one (or which ones) should I get? 5. INVENTORY! My biggest beef with most rpgs is the need to try to have realism with inventory. Like I could possibly carry 5 full sets of plate armor and 10 weapons and still run and fight anyway. It's unrealistic anyway, so let me carry as much as I want. I remember when I played before, I cheated my strength to be able to carry more. I don't want to do that. I just want to be able to carry everything I find. 6. I assume I will also need additional patches and bugfixes so I would like those too. 7. Any additional mods (mods I didn't know I needed) which make the game more fun or more like morrowind. All I can offer in return for a response is my gratitude and the promise that, if I can get back into Oblivion, I will finish it and purchase the expansions. Thank you in advance for your response. ps. links to mods would be awesome
shaydeeuk
Hi Kran, I am pretty new to modding myself and I found this list very helpful. It's a great start to getting the game how you want it. http://forums.bethsoft.com/?showtopic=790175&hl
kranecu
Hi Kran, I am pretty new to modding myself and I found this list very helpful. It's a great start to getting the game how you want it. http://forums.bethsoft.com/?showtopic=790175&hl It isn't quite what I was hoping for but very useful nonetheless and certainly gives a good foundation for building oblivion to what I want it to be. Thank you for your response. I am working my way through the guide now.
shaydeeuk
It wasn't exactly what I was looking for either, but like you said, it's a very good start. And the lists at the bottom of the OP have some very good mods aswell. I've found that modding is like pringles... "Once you mod, you just cant stop!"
