Merutan
It will be cool to have a mod that adjusts player's walking speed. There are 4 speeds: walk, fastwalk, jog and run. All of these can be used by NPC. Player, on the other hand, must have a controller to utilize fastwalk and jog.Ideal version of the mod:Allows player to access 2 additional walking speeds and bind keyboard keys to them. So that it will be possible to, lets say make "W" key to be always fastwalk. While some other unused key we will set to "slow walk".Lite version of the mod:Personally I don't see much use for jog, unless you already finished all quests possible and just jog now and then to make sure that your character won't get fat ^^So to minimize the amount of work while keeping the mod useful, the slow walking speed for player can be replaced with fastwalk permanently, without messing with keys or anything else.I do walk a lot but I think default walk speed is only useful for sightseeing. There are some mods that deal with speeds. Some of them make speed faster for both NPC and Player, some make only NPC as slow as player, but none of them seem to be doing what I described above (though I'd like to be proved wrong).Note: these changes should not affect NPCs in any way. Player's running speed should also be the same.Personally I have no clue how to implement this. Maybe something like: figure out what gets triggered when controller sends a command to use fastwalk and somehow trigger it through a mod.Thanks.Edit: oh I forgot to mention. It seems walking speed also depends on player race/height. That obviously should stay untouched too. All I ask is to get acces to all (or at least fastwalk) vanilla movement speeds using a keyboard. consorts
a simpler solution would be to greatly reduce the Stamina Drain while Sprinting [Alt] key. it's possible there is a parameter for this buried somewhere that a player can self edit. there are several faster walking related mods :ohmy:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1603/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9553/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58246/? I do not want to simply walk faster, I want to be able to turn on "second and third gear" (with their default vanilla values) which are not exposed to a keyboard user by default. And do this without affecting NPCs so that this won't introduce gameplay changes and will allow you to walk alongside them smoothly (Quest NPCs use fastwalk very often) Unless I don't see something obvious (in which case please explain me how to configure these mods to achieve wanted results): 1st mod changes both player and NPC speed at the same time and only covers walking modes #1 and #4 If I'll find out what values are used for "fast walk" and will assign them to "walk" with this mod, this will also affect NPCs 2nd mod basically prevents NPCs from using Fastwalk and Jog. 3rd mod is something totally different. Also as people report, messing with speed modes #1(walk) and #4(run) has side effects beyond simply gameplay changes. Most likely due to some stuff being scripted in some particular way. Thus giving access to FastWalk and Jog without altering anything else seems to be the only proper way. By simply altering some values, it is not possible to achieve desired results. Some scripting is required. probably even SKSE. Edit: something lke this: Edited January 16, 2015 by Merutan
