Megaton Related Crash

Hey guys.

 

So I'm having this weird issue with crashing in Megaton, I'm uncertain if it's related to the mods I have loaded, but I hasn't always happened and I've progressively added mods and just noticed it recently. Before I describe it I'll put across that I haven't seen this happen anywhere else in the game world so far, even though I haven't been to places like Rivet City just yet, it only seems to happen in, or nearby, Megaton.

 

When I enter the town by whatever means, I cannot talk to anybody. They will acknowledge me when I interact with them but no dialog boxes appear. If I leave the main town and enter a building random textures will not be rendered and some of the characters will half load and have the giant floating red boxes over them. If I shoot people decals don't appear properly and usually just come up and big red squares on the ground. Eventually the game will CTD.

 

I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening. I have loaded and unloaded various mods and used the BOSS tool to redo my load order. As far as I know my computer doesn't lack the hardware to deal with this and I can easily slog through big battles elsewhere on high settings without much of a frame hit. This is the only problem I've really had and while I could just keep a wide berth around Megaton I would prefer to fix it for obvious reasons.

So if anybody else has experienced this and might be able to shed some light on it I would be extremely grateful.

Sounds like a mod that is specific to Megaton then - perhaps your loading Lings Pretty Things or similar (Project Beauty) would be another.

If so it sounds like you haven't installed the mod correctly, try reinstalling.

 

Last but not least posting your current load order is always best when asking for help - otherwise we're just all guessing what the problem is / could be.
