ZombieUK
Howdy, Been trying out a few Companion type mods that add not so true companions such as Party Recruitment and Project Anima Project Anima: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1263 Party Recruitment: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=740 Love these two but they do not work well with each other as Project Anima overights the Companion Selection part and I love em forever. Would it be possible for them to reappear at the campsite of thieres And the interior for the other bunch? Also I understand the Cat Companion mod known as Elf has a work around programming that spawns the Cat next to you but does not take any companion slots thus having an extra free comp tho does not fight or anything, ELF the pet cat v2 Dr Suess: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=956 Perhaps somebody could make use of the Cat's Programming and use it for future companion mods? I really would like to have me own personal Darkspawn Horde follow me about without using any companion slots or Summon slots. I also know of the Qunari Invasion but I like to be A Warrior and Mage mostly so summoning loads of stuff can be tedious. I will try my hand at modding them to my preferece but dunno yet. Thanks? DarkeWolf
There's been attempts at "summoning" actual companions. Both by using the ELF method, and the Extra Dog Slot method. So far, it doesnt work :( The problem that you're having is that both of these mods use a custom made "Character Stage" area. The game engine isnt smart enough to read both of them at the same time, and will only read one of them. What you would need to do, is to create a custom character stage, that incorporates the location of the figures from both mods, drop that into your override folder, and then delete the character stages from the original two mods. I havent ever tried to create a custom char stage, so I dont fully know what all is involved with it, other than there are placeholder dummies which are set in the scene to determine where the characters are standing. http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Tutorials#Custom_content_tutorials this has some information as to what needs to be done, in the area labled Companion Tutorials. Now, what I am unsure about, and am inquiring about.... is to whether or not if another modder were to create a compatibility patch, as to whether or not that modder would need to have permission from the original authors, in order to be able to give that patch to the community. I will post back when I have received a confirm or deny on that subject. ;) Thats not to suggest that I am willing to take the project up. I simply dont have the understanding of how to make it. And I hate to say it, but I dont have the time available to me to try to figure it out :(
ZombieUK
Oh! Ok then. I myself have just downloaded and installed the toolset for possible future tweaks. I dont intend to create fece morphs as they are called as I am just fine with the Character's Appearence. Morrigan is perfect as Leiliana is too. Anyhoo I have tried to play about with it but bloody hell is difficult to understand from what Im used to. Thanks again for this.
DarkeWolf
here's the actual information that involves teh character stage, taken from that page that I linked to before- http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Follower_tutorial#Overlay_char_stage And yeah, I know what you mean. A lot of the people that write those assume that you know what they're talking about. And for those of us that don't, we're kinda left in the dust just guessing. And as long as the actual files from the mods arent necessary for the patch (just the filenames) then permission is not required. I am however attempting to gain such permission from both author's as a courtesy. And will post when/if those are given.
DarkeWolf
Aranox has given his permission to use his files for a compatibility patch. He has even offered to try to hunt down the source files for anybody that is willing to take up the project. He can be reached via pm if needed.Southbeatz has not been active here on the site for a considerable amount of time, and has not yet responded to my request. However, since only the names are needed for compatibility, his permission is a courtesy only. (IE, it's nice to have it, but not mandatory) since none of his actual FILES would need to be distributed. Good luck with the request, I hope that it gets worked out :D-DW
