Benchmarking support mod?

Hello there,

I'm working on an ENB comparison that can be found here:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60685/?

So far it's working pretty fine, but I want to expand the included data for the benchmarks.

I thought about additional benchmark sceneries and that's where starts the problem: Beside the intro sequence there isn't any scene that 's fitting all the following requirements:

  • quite demanding in terms of performance
  • if possible common scenerie in the benchmark
  • by far the biggest: possibility to (nearly) eliminate a influence of the user to the benchmark results

Especially the third is a real problem from my own testing. So I thought about an "mod" idea.

Is it principle possible to create a mod, that let the own character (or npc, camera would also be fully ok) walk or fly along a predesigned path?

For example getting an small ingame dialog, choose a benchmark sequence, get then teleported, set the time and weather and after a small time of waiting, starting the benchmark sequence?

After finishing the benchmark a small message box could appear (or could even the main menu be opened?) because that's giving way higher FPS - VSync disabled - and is then easier to cut from the rest.

So far I don't have any "real" experience in modding for skyrim (a little bit of all^^), but would this theoretically possible? If so, I would take this into my long (very long) planning.

Thanks alot for support and nice weekend then ;)

Greetings Gunthral
