KrystalinKuppicakes
I just downloaded a bunch of mods, turns out just about everyone of them doesn't work with the ModManager, so either I'm doing something wrong or they really don't work.So I was wondering if people could give me some good mods that work with it. Thandal
I just downloaded a bunch of mods, turns out just about everyone of them doesn't work with the ModManager, so either I'm doing something wrong or they really don't work.So I was wondering if people could give me some good mods that work with it.Welcome Krystalin; DAOModManager (DAMM) and DAModmanager (DAM) are simply "helpers" for the housekeeping chores associated with some (and by no means most) of the mods out there. Except for the special class of the very few ".override" files for DAMM, the "compatible" mods are all the ".dazips", which the built-in program DAUpdater does as well. (DAM also recognizes ".zips", but you can rename those to ".dazip" to get DAMM to do so as well.) These programs just make it easier to selectively install and uninstall them. You might be having a number of issues in getting mods to work, and we'll need more information about which ones, and what you've tried so far, before we can offer any specific help. But it sounds like you have a number of mods that aren't ".dazips". They should just be placed in the "\[user's documents]\bioware\dragon age\packages\core\override" folder (after extracting them from their "packaging", of course.) That's all that's necessary for most.
KrystalinKuppicakes
Well I got rid of a large amount of ones that I had gotten, because I really liked what they did, but no matter how many times I tried or what I did they never worked (I'm talking about ones that go in the override folder). At the moment the problem I'm having is the alignment in my game is off so when it goes to the party selector I can't choose Alistiar or Sten. I'm on the verge of taking every single mod off except the ones that I -KNOW- work. There is also something I messed up and can't fix now at all. It doesn't affect the game play, but it makes my game crash when I do it. It's only in the character creator part of the game though so that's why it doesn't bother me much. Sorry if I'm making things difficult. Aside from the Sims 3 I really never have messed with Mods. And modding DA is sooooo much more difficult than the Sims. KrystalinKuppicakes
Also I just tried unzipping a mod and 7zip said it was broken.. It's part 2 and 3 or HDtextures. They didn't really tell me what I had to download so I got all three of them
bits01
Hi there, I'm new to this - I thouhgt this would be a good thread to put in my two cents: downloaded the downloadmanger 9c and the natural bodies mod. I have theNBaio.override extracted, but the manger does not accept it. It askes 'install?' - yes ! - and then after afew moment the manager 'does not respond' because of 'wrong parameters'. Took me the whole afternoo to geve up and sign in here. Anybody?Regards.Bits01
DarkeWolf
Here's my tutorial on how to install nbaio with DAMM. take a look over it, follow it thru, and make sure that you're trying to install it correctly. If you still have problems, post back here and we'll see what you've got going on.http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=38 Good luck, and Welcome to the nexus! :) Edited November 9, 2010 by DarkeWolf
bits01
Hi again, I am going to do that - but first of all: thanks for the welcome and for the quick reply. Seems like a nice community. With regards.
bits01
Hi again 2, Tried and failed poorly: step 5 does not work for me. I drag it into the box where it does not even appears, and moments later I get 'manager does not respond anymore''.With the mousepointer above the dropzone I get the time icon - with the pointer outside the manager I get the drag-icon. It seems to me something goes wrong with the downloadmanager. Is there another overridefile which I can use to test it? Regards, bits

Regards, bits 01At some point you have not correctly/completely installed either DAMM, or nbaio, (or both) or are not putting the latter where the former can find it. What are your system specs? Many nods, not just nbaio, take quite a while to "install" completely under DAMM. The lower the specs, (especially the amount of RAM) the longer it takes. Personally, I never "drag-n-drop" files into DAMM. I copy the specific file into the appropriate folder ("dazip" or "override", as the case may be.) Never had a problem with DAMM "finding" the files, but I have had the "not responding" message when I got impatient while it was trying to read them. The sheer number of people successfully using those two mods together (myself included) demonstrates that they both DO work. I would uninstall (really just "delete") both and start over. Another "override" you can use is: DAO-Modmanager Override Collection. And another is: GateKisses, (but you have to look for the "override" version under the "Files" tab of that one.) Let us know what happens...
DarkeWolf
Bits- no problem at all, always glad to see new users posting here in the forums :)K, try this. If you are using windows vista, or windows 7, find the folder where you downloaded/installed DAMM to, and right click on the .exe file for damodmanager. choose properties, and then choose COMPATIBILITY and choose to run it in compatibility modechoose the mode for windows xp. if that doesnt work, try right clicking on the .exe file and choose Run as administrator. Should that also fail, try an older version of DAMM. perhaps that version has a bug in it that hasnt been fixed. All this along with what Thandal has already recommended. Good luck :) Edited November 10, 2010 by DarkeWolf
