Minimap Missing.

Hello, I've a pretty heavily modded load-out along with all official DLC and Shivering Isles. And thankfully, after some work, it's all playing together nicely.

However, after installing DarkUI Darn via the OMod method (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280), my minimap would suddenly not show. And a message would show in-game:

Now I promptly uninstalled/reversed the mod's changes, and the problem persisted. I remember dealing with this before, it had to do with the capitalization of "MiniMap" and an .xml file somewhere that referred to it, but I can't remember for the life of me now. Haha.

If anyone has any ideas, it'd be much appreciated. It's nothing game crippling, and everything else is A-OK, but it sure would be nice to have my minimap back.

It's rather obvious by what the message states. Your MiniMap mod is missing the XML files needed to function. Darn's UI, and the Dark versions, replace multiple XML files upon installation. So evidently the XML file for MiniMaps was overwritten when you installed Darn's UI. But when you uninstalled the newly placed UI mod it simply deleted the XML files, it would not know how to revert to a previous file of the same name.

I'm going to assume you are installing with OBMM since this would have never happened with a BAIN installation. BAIN would have listed the conflicts and you would have had multiple options of resolving and avoiding such issues. Plus BAIN will "rewind" when you uninstall, replacing previously overwritten files. All you need to do is reinstall your MiniMap mod to replace the XML file though. If you want Darn's UI and the MiniMap mod but are not using BAIN installation you will need to install Darn's UI, then the MiniMap. That way the MiniMap XML file 'wins' the conflict. I can't assure you that other issues won't arise though since apparently these two mods share certain files.

If you want to better control these conflicts I suggest you read up on Wrye Bash and BAIN Installations. If you don't want to use BAIN, pick which mod you like best, or run the gauntlet and install both and see how they work together.
