Hazard2005
Wonder how Obsidian did not notice the NPC lag... However from what I hear the console ports problems are far off worse than PC, so I guess we should consider ourselves lucky.
Gishank
Have you all attempted verifying the games cache and file intergrity? Because to be fair it's unlikely that they would release a game which had major bugs in the such that made it unplayable.

Its not unheard of, if my memory serves me right FO3 release had a LOT of problems far worse than what I'm having on NV.

GrindedStone
So quick to flame an so slow to do anything about it. Humph... It works perfrectly for me in 1600 X 1200, but it didn't at first there was a bit of grapical lag, fixed it real easy though. 1. Install STEAM an Fallout 3 somewhere else, like a game only drive. 2. Turn the auto detected display settings down to half on the distance sliders 3. Disable AA, Disable AF which you won't need with a modern game like this or FO3 (short of taking screenshots with AF on) 4. Set your native display resolution 5. Disable the auto/quick saves 6. Defrag the hard drive, even if it says you no needy it 7. Enable background loading services, Enable threading except for multithread audio, turn the border off, enable profile decals, set decal limits, ect. 8. Download FNV edit, change some stuff, save it in your free add on .esm if you like.
