Geck problem

I opened GECK to work with an .esp file I have been working on. When the Geck loaded the two boxes on the left were there, but no render window. I tried loading my .esp fle, setting it as the active file. and Loading it, like when it's supposed to show up in the render window, but the window won't open. I tried going to view>render window, as well, it won't open that way either. thanks to all those who answer. I apologize if this is a stupid question, im fairly new to this...
