killjoy360 Posted October 20, 2010 Share Posted October 20, 2010 When I first saw Fallout 3 I thought to myself, "This would be so cool as a zombie survival game." I got to writing down ideas for a massive game overhaul but it didn't work out. Now we have New Vegas, the latest installment to the post apocalyptic game. Now I will describe my story. "I remember when it all began... The beginning was just like any other day in my home town. Sure things were hard then, failing economy and ecological disaster to name a few. The initial outbreak of this virus was swept under the rug just as you would expect. Riots in some distant town, mass suicide in another... Of course you cant forget about the spreading wave of sickness related deaths. The end had come, we just didn't know it yet. 3 days from case 0 was when the s*** hit the fan, no longer could the world hide what was going on around them. By then it was too late, towns and cities had already fallen to the virus, the dead had begun its march to consume all of mankind. Not me though, I was one of those freaks who kind of thought this day would come, and when it did... I was ready. It's been 7 years since case 0 and we lost the war, the world was in ruins mostly due to our own mistakes. We as a species are still surviving, of course not much is left but we get through the hard times." - Journal entry 134, March 27th 2019. Basically the game was to be remade completely, the whole land didn't need to change but certain things did. The only real enemy would be feral ghouls and normal ghouls, the voices would be changed to they are all part of the undead of course. Super mutants and other such things are removed. New factions aiming to survive whats left. During the day you can explore freely only seeing the undead on occasion, but at night they all come out to hunt. Damage to limbs would be set to 0 for ghouls and only head shots killed. Limbs could still be crippled though. Instead of RADS you would get INF, infection. As you progressed though the stages of infection you would eventually die from it. This was a dream of mine and was supposed to go along with a book I am writing, which the above story is actually part of it. I know its a lot of work to make this but I think it would be really fun. I had the same idea a long time ago, but swiftly discarded it because I lack the talent to make it a reality. Justin11111 Posted February 15, 2011 Share Posted February 15, 2011 probbably the best way for a BIG mod like that to get some of the heavy hitters on the nexus on board is for you to do more than just come up with the idea. implementing some of your ideas in a small scale "test chamber" ie. walling off prim and putting your ideas in there before big scale production will show that you can put at least some of them to production. if you dont know how to use the geck learning the basics so you can make a "test chamber" will show dedication. oh and just a suggestion for the mod, change the currency to ammo like in metro 2033 it is much more "apocolipty" if that is a word. :nuke: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
