tebayo26
I'm running Windows 7 x64. UAC is off. It seemed to install fine. I've had it installed before in the exact same location also with Windows 7 x64. Here's the bug dump: Traceback (most recent call last):File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 96, in <module>import basherFile "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\basher.py", line75, in <module>from balt import ListCtrlImportError: cannot import name ListCtrl

More than just python is required for Wrye Bash to run - some third-party libraries are also required - and they are installed with the Wrye Python 03a package. Actually I did install Wrye Python 03a. Here's exactly what I did. First I uninstalled everything that started with python or wxpython, Then I installed these things using the default settings like suggested: Wrye_Bash_275_-_Self_Installer-22368.exeWrye_Bash_290_-_Archive_Version_-_Update_Only-22368.7zWrye_Python_03a-22368.exe Do you have any other ideas? Megatarius
Okay, I had this same problem. Here's what worked for me: Right click on Wrye Bash's shortcut.Select PropertiesIn the Start In Field, enter this folder: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\MopyAdjust to your install directory if neededIn the Target Field, enter c:\python25\python.exe bash.py -dAgain adjust to your install directory if neededNotice this is the same thing it tells you to do in the bug dump Basically, forget about the bug dump. I don't know what it does, and I don't need to. This method, when simply plugged into the shortcut for me (Windows 7 64 bit) just starts Bash. Good luck. All it did was open the bug dump for a second and then it closes. I had to take a screen shot for me to read it, but it just says exactly the same thing. Reinstalled Wrye Bash and tried opening it before updating it and it worked. I've tried a few different versions, but same problem. I guess 275 is good enough. Thanks to everyone for trying to help. getlost
I got the same problem. Apparently I missed the wyre bash 290 updates note "Requires an old installation of Wrye Bash 286+", so after installing 275, upgrade to 286+ before upgrading to 290. That fixed the problem for me. Smooth613
With 290 there is a very minor, seemingly one time, bug where it will not start. If there is a file named pidfile.tmp in your Mopy folder and Wrye Bash is not running you need to delete this file. WB should then start. When you close Wrye Bash that file is supposed to be deleted, hence the .tmp extension. Sometimes, for reasons unknown yet, this file does not get deleted. This happened to me very early on when I upgraded to 290 when it was first released. I deleted the file once, and since then have never had the issue repeat itself. 287 and 290 are considered fully functional and stable. 290 being the most recent, with more functionality, and I have zero problems with it. You should however avoid 288 and 289 at all cost.

eko1127
I recently started to install the nvamp mods that require wrye flash to be install. Bottom line, program did not want to start/ had the same problems as above comments. I try diferent convinations and no luck. I posted this on a different post but I though it could help people here. After several attempts just could not get the program to start. I wanted/was using the recent programs until I decide to use the old version. As of July 25 2011 this is what worked for me: Wrye Python 03aInstall with default settings. Wrye Bash NV (Wrye Bash NV 13) Now it works with no shorcuts, no commands, nothing just double click the launcher and off you go.I hope that help's others with problem not running on Windows 7 (64) I had the Fallout NV folder in c:\Fallout New Vegas just in case. My problem before was that I was downloading Wrye Python 04a and thinking I was getting the most updated version it was just not working for me but now by installing Wrye Python 03a it works on first try just by double clicking.
