Shady_Sam
When I launch my first mission it goes to a black screen. I've tried reinstalling and all of that, but it doesn't seem to be helping. And somehow I forgot to mention that this is with Long War. dubiousintent
Per johnnylump: A black screen on first mission load has traditionally meant some graphics element isn't being loaded correctly -- you might go find Launch.Log in your XCOM my games folder, and see if it tells you anything you might recognize. This is typically an "installation/configuration problem", rather than a "bug" in LW. In addition to the Launch.log mentioned by johnnylump, you should also take a look at the LW installer log, which is located in the same folder where you unpacked the downloaded LW archive and ran the installer. Other steps to try:1. Have you gone through the checklist in the "Basic Guide"?2. Have you gone through all the steps laid out in the "Basic Guide" in preparation for installing LW, in particular the "Environment" section?3. Did you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or later (and an updated Java if you use it) installed prior to installing LW?If you missed any of steps 1-3 above: remedy, verify XCOM, and re-install. 4. Have you recently updated your video drivers? (Some of the new ones may have dropped support for XCOM.)5. What screen resolution are you using? If it's an odd/custom one, try one of the standard screen sizes.6. Has any driver recently been updated: sound, video, mouse? (Those three all have interactions that can unexpectedly cause strange problems.) 7. Have you gone through all the steps laid out in the LW "Detailed Troubleshooting Guide" which is part of the downloaded archive? If so, then you might try the steps in this article, which is an earlier version of that guide. -Dubious- Edited November 2, 2015 by dubiousintent
pikachu01
Try to install using the exe first before using the Long War Mod Manager. Sorry for bumping this thread, but I found this out the hard way.
