Anyway to open F3 mods in NV Geck?

There probably isn't, but I might as well ask.

Is there any way to either a) port or b) open an F3 mod in the NV Geck? I have an old quest mod I start in F3 that I want to port over, and was just wondering if there was an automatic way to do it, or if it needs to be done by hand.

Don't think this would work in every case, but I just successfully ported a mod using FO3Edit. Loaded mod in question, edited Master File from Fallout3.exe to FalloutNV.exe

Also removed everything from mod that altered existing FO3 stuff, just to be on the safe side, dunno if that was necessary though.

Mod now opens with no problems in NV Geck and in the game itself. :3

I tried the FO3Edit method and I can confirm it works. I had plenty of altered FO3 stuff that I left in there and it didn't cause any problems. For example, with doors that linked to FO3 worldspace, the FO3 worldspace cell name is made in NV as a blank terrain map with only the doors I created. I have not gone far enough to test everything out, but this is good news, converting FO3 mods should be a relatively simple process.

While I can't confirm anything in this post because my FO3Edit doesn't work (can't find my installation directory, likely because it's a steam version...anyway)

Open the mod(s) in question with Fallout 3 Edit (FO3Edit) edit the master file that refers to the Fallout3.esm and change that to FalloutNV.esm and you'll be able to open the mod in the Geck, and likely play it in the game, just might have to change somethings around, add things to some items, etc.

FNVEdit is still in an early alpha stage so troubles can be expected. It's not a good idea to simply change the master. The same thing was discussed in the Bethsoft forum and a Obsidian Developer warned us to try a simple conversion with master change and reediting in NV Geck. We could produce memory leaks with this method.

ElminsterAU the author of FONVEdit is looking for a solution but this is will be mostly a modders resource. A simple conversion from FO3 to NV with one click is unrealistic for most biggers mods.
