Okay, here's the story. I Had Game of the Year Edition on Vista. I had these mods(just from memory)

Unofficial patch

Akatosh Dragon Mount

Squarl's Textures

The Underdark

Underdark Saga

Snow Dragon Temple(Badass)

Mage Eqp. 21

Better Bodies Compilation

DMC Animation replacer

Command Mounts

CM Partners

Midas Magic

Martigen monsters

Natural environments

Unique Landscape Compilation

Color Map

DarnifiedUI (also badass)

DK High Imperials

I was working on trying to get the Viconia mod to work. For Some reason, she had no face, no voice, and when I talked to her, the camera looked up into the ceiling and turned blue. First I made an OMOD of the dl, but the problem happened, so I deactivated and deleted the OMOD and installed it manually. Same problem. Then I just rode around on a dragon while I thought. Error message appears. Oblivion has stopped working.I tried restarting it normally, with OBMM, with OBSE. Nothing got past a black 1 second pop-up. Frustrated, I Uninstalled it and re-installed it(first time I've ever done this) and it still didn't work. I ran a disk check and again. Nothing.

Please help.

After uninstalling did you remember to remove any traces of mods left over from the previous installation? The uninstaller will only uninstall the base game, make sure you remember to delete mods and any traces from the game from the "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion" or where ever you installed it so you know you have a fully working original Oblivion, it would also be best to delete the Oblivion.ini in your documents to make sure Oblivion will create a new one after installation.

Personally before I install Oblivion again I remove any leftover registry keys with a registry cleaner (such as CCleaner) to be on the safe side, but it should not normally have to be done, and I would highly advise against doing that unless you are completely sure of what you are doing.

You'd be surprised that many people don't think of doing that :P

In that case I would try using the OIC (Oblivion Installation Cleaner) located at " http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20258 " and if even that doesn't work, I think you would be at the point where you should remove Oblivion, clean any old registry keys, and reinstall.

If you use these and Oblivion without mods still won't work I'm not too sure what could be wrong, it's proper practice to install Oblivion outside of program files if Vista's UAC is enabled, and to run the game as an administrator, but I'm sure you have tried both of these, sorry I can't be of much help.
