kelticpete
I made a bow that "casts on use" a chameleon spell on me. So I just used it..... and the effect did not show. It is only a 6 second effect. But I literally shot something, and right moused into my effect screen. nada. I know that bow casts either on you or a small radius around you.... (like you can't enchant a bow and do fire damage to enemies. I thought this would work. the USEP did not help. maybe I am just thick
Tchos
"Used" in Morrowind means you activate the spell, not hit/shoot something with it. It's not like the later games, where weapons are only able to be enchanted to fire their effects when you hit something with them.

I had been using a unique short sword i found like that but I did not connect the dots to my own enchanting. kudos
Tchos
You're welcome. It's been a while since I played, but I think that when your enchanting reaches higher levels, you'll be able to enchant "on strike", which is what you were initially describing. It may not work as expected with a bow, though.
