polaris198 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 So blah blah, Im playing New vegas with veronica as my companion and randomly she cannot die... ive tweaked with the geck and she is not classified as a quest item or essential so what the hell is going on? (and no i do not have an invincibility mod for her) and she is only essential when she is recruited.
PickelSurprise Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 It's probably just a built-in feature for companions. The same is true of ED-E, so it probably applies to all companions as well as they're recruited.

First thing I checked was to see if she was set to essential by using the console command that reveals the essential setting She is flagged esssential. This is normal game play. I think in hardcore they are not set as essential. So no need to ffuss with essential companion mods at all unless you want to cheat in hardcore. If I understand your query.
