Cosm1cGam3r
I want to edit gun reload speed but I dunno how to do it so I ask skilled scripters/moders to help me. In NV there is perk that maker reload 25% faster so I wonder if there is way to make normal reloading without perk or skills to be slower cuz for me reloading is to FAST. I taked guns as one of mine main skills but on skill 37 my character reloads to fast its very unrealistic cuz even fastest reloaders cant do this and I watched few vids on YT and I got some knowledge about guns. It would be nice If game would have items like mag holder that can be equipped and then it would give about 50% faster reloading and without it reloading would be slow cuz getting out mags from backpack or pocked slow down reloading. BTW this game needs BACKPACK cuz where player character holds all his stuff ? I miss inventory manager like in x-com enemy unknown game :( Please good moders help me to make this game more realistic. If anyone finds a proper way to do that, i'll be happy tho'.
Ard88
I'd also very much like to see a mod like this, but also for a different reason. When reloading any lever-action gun, or revolver, while moving, the character's running animation will glitch, making me unable to shoot my gun until I stop for 2 seconds. Those 2 seconds can get a person killed. Properly killed.I speculate that the glitch happens because the reload animation is so ridiculously fast.

Lol I did that to but I did this as trait not perk so I wanted it to be selectable at start as realism tweak (cuz I dont know how to make this permanent in mod, there must be this modifier for reload speed dunno where :/) but it didnt work and made glitch. Now I tried it again and now I know what I did wrong :) I put this multiply value at minus and that is not valid for game lol normal value is 1.0 perk for fast reload makes it 1.25 so to slow it 50% value must be 0.50 lol why I didnt get this ealier :wallbash: Ok so If nobody wil help us then we must do it in our way. I plan to remove all trait on start and make them as perks and this realism tweak for example "natural reloading" I wil make as trait and this will be satisfying enough for me :) Better that way or not at all :) I just hate watching at that vanila "uberunrealistictofastdumbreloading" animations :)
Geeves83
100% behind this happening. This is one of the few peeves I had with FO3 that I didn't find a solution (either my own or, in most cases, someone else's) for. I saw those perks listed snooping around for info on the game and was excited because I knew it would be easier to just reverse engineer them than to start from scratch. Did that solution (the 0.50 perk) work for you, cosm1cgam3r?

I also asked for help from someone who is good at moding but if no help will arrive then I will do as I said, I will do Trait at the beginning of game when trait selection show up It will be enough for me as I started to mod NV short after beginning of game in goodsprings, In doc house I discovered first stupid thing, player can grab anything from doc house. Next was that to fast reloading, night not being real night only as cloud day, lack of head shot and hardcore mode needs which was not as close to real needs but the most annoying thing which make me stop playing immediately was time scale which was to fast and sense less so I started to find solution, it was easy just console command but then I tough, "ok I will change those rest annoying things and thats how I started to mod instead of playing this new game :)
KMA
To keep this simple I will put this in bullet form - Open GECK and select a weapon (dbl-click to open it)- About 1/4 of the way down the page are tabs that are a little hard to see at first (not color designated), and you need to choose the second one (Art and Sound)- On the right side under the Message Icon picture is Reload Time for you to edit No scripting or special skills needed. Make sure to save your changes into an ESP and you will have a realistic reload mod in a few days (it should take that long to properly balance all the weapons - though you could just add 50% to all which would keep them equal). I did that in first place when I discovered that reloading is crazy in vanila. I edited those values and only 1 worked, it was animation after shot and reload animation stayed always the same. KMA
Sorry, this forum is linked to my 'other' email account and I forgot to check it this week while I was modding full-time. I just checked it out and either Beth or Ob changed it. The Reload Anim in the lower left of that same tab controls the values. You cannot set them manually. So just most the Reload Anim from A to C and you will see the reload time change. I do not know what this will do to the weapon in-game, but if they messed it up you should start an official thread on the Beth forum to get it changed back so you can enter the values you want without changing the animation. I cannot imagine that they actually created 10 reload animations for the 10mm pistol, yet none of the incompatible ones were grayed-out. If you do start a thread there, let me know and I will lend my support and that of my fans. 4Aces
