mikozero Posted October 23, 2010 Share Posted October 23, 2010 this is my first post so hello all :) basically i tried to make a mod i created an item of pair of glasses called Arkansas's Shooting Glasses, made a script for them that put some AP on them and stuck them in Arkansas's invertory and saved it out of The Geck (i did do some reading to figure out how to do this so i wasn't totally flying in the dark) i did this because i don't like the hockey mask and it seemed to kinda fit also you deserve a reward if you kill him at low lvl i think :P anyway...two problems cropped up firstly for some reason i do not understand at all the newly created Arkansas's Shooting Glasses.esp contains (or rather contained) ChildBlastoffHelmet and ive no idea why because i am absolutely rock solid sure i only touched/created the three changes i listed above. anyway i deleted that using FO3Edit when i was exploring its uses but if anyone knows why it happened i'd love to know secondly and far more importantly i think have gone about the whole mod wrong because my little 1.5kb mod still apparently contains all the data relating to Arkansas including his FaceGen Data which is causing problems because i have the Project Beauty.esm right at the top of my load order after the DLCs and according to FO3Edit my little Arkansas's Shooting Glasses.esp overwrites his modded face back to the default. now as i understand it there should be no .esps before esms so it would seem somehow i need to strip all the info out my mod except the new items data and the instruction that its in Arkansas's invertory but i don't know how to do this at all :( if tried fishing around on the net. i tried deleting the data in FOEdit (didn't work) and ive tried cleaning it in FOMM using TESsnip as per a topic i found on the net but that caused no change in the mod (i rechecked it in FO3Edit) and i feel i'm completely flying in the dark :( i know i have probably done something totally wrong and sound like an utter noob but if anyone could help me out or even just point me in the general direction of my mistake i'd hugely appreciate it as if i want to make any more mods i think this is something i'm going to have to figure out. on the up side my 2nd tentative modding excursion (a totally independant version of autumn overcoats ive made with a new script) seems to work fine but atm i have to call into game it from the console as i'm still looking for a good guide on how to get it onto a vendor (not in a hurry to get that one done but again of anyone has a handy link that would be very cool) thank you in advance to anyone who respondsmiko Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
