jimsippo
Hello all, I've been improving my Blender,Nifscope and Gimp skills by making a custom axe. I've got the thing in game and it works mostly as it should, it's very good for lopping the heads of raiders and other assorted fools but I'm having problems getting the textures to display right. Here it is in Nifscope: The nodes poking out all over it are decal markers which were on the weapon I used as a template (the sledgehammer) and, meddling with forces I don't understand, I thought if I kept them I might get a bit of blood splatter going on? And then in game Incidentally is there any way to change the sound a weapon makes on impact? I used the hammer as a base for its size and animation but I'd like the sound to be more like a sword. jimsippo
Hey all. Just thought I would post and say I figured it out. Originally I was using the fine longsword texture from Oblivion but I've changed that as I learned it would be against the rules if I wanted to upload it onto the Nexus. The sledgehammer one is a better fit with the environment anyway. I think it didn't work before because missed doing something in blender, perhaps I didn't set the map input to UV or something. Here it is finished: I even managed to change the sound, all I had to do was change the impact data set in the GECK. All in all an eventual success and I learned a lot doing this.
