Replacing vanilla sound files for weapons

I wanted to change the 2D/3D fire sound effects and the rechambering sound effects for the assault carbine.

So I looked in NVedit and noticed that the pathway for the sound files for the assault carbine is the same as the file path the chinese assault rifle used in F3.

So I routed it like sound/fx/wpn/rifleassault/fire/wpn_rifleassault_fire_2D.wav and wpn_rifleassault_fire_3D.wave. Sadly, it didn't work. Could someone tell me what I need to do to replace the sound files correctly?

Figured it out on my own, won't need the help afterall, so no worries.

Could you let me know how? Im having trouble getting sound to work for my own mod

Fallout NV uses weird pathways, to change the assault carbine's sounds I had to;

fire 2D had to be routed as sound/fx/wpn/rifleassaultcarbine/fire_2D/wpn_rifleassault_carbine_fire_2d.wav

Same kind of deal for 3D; sound/fx/wpn/rifleassaultcarbine/fire_3D/wpn_rifleassault_carbine_fire_3d.wav

I didn't mess with the far off distance gunfight sound clip for it, didn't have anything that would work probably, so I just left it intact. Those are the sounds you hear for scripted gunfights that happen in the distance.

Changing the reload sounds was messed up, had to change the reload sounds for the marksmen carbine to change the reload sound for stuff like the assault carbine/service rifle

that is routed as sound/fx/wpn/riflemarksmancarbine/

then the whole process is broken up amongst a series of 4 different wavs for the reload process that go in a series like; wpn_markscarb_reloadpt1-2-3-4

Yeah, pain in the ass, but I got it all working now.
