Elizinator Posted October 24, 2010 Share Posted October 24, 2010 so a few days ago i got back from out-of-town, eager to resume my game i installed some new mods, uninstalling many immediately, as they did not perform as desired, or appeared to blatantly conflict with others and i played. and for a while, i didn't notice anything wrong. but now its obvious something is wrong, subtle and deep. it has manifested in several ways: 1: Consume Enchantments doesn't work properly. i had thought this was a problem with the mod, as it NEVER had worked properly for me, but for everyone else it does. basically, any fortification bonus gained by consuming an item just does not apply. ever. all other property types work as normal for that mod. =/ 2: Deadly Reflexes is sick. im not sure what ELSE is wrong, as i rarely shield bash or dodge, preferring Unnecessary Violence in this case. what is DEFINITELY broken is that i can no longer decapitate or maim my opponents. ever. no more do heads and bodies fly off. 3: slightly more intermittent crashes. my game, despite its humongous load order, had been relatively stable. now, i often get the tiny "ding" and sudden crash to desktop for no obvious reason. that is, nothing i do can predictably cause this crash, nor prevent it. 4: creatures added through MMM or even vanilla monsters have WAY fewer hitpoints. Xivilai went from 1700-2300 to 700+. Yellow-bellied ogres went from 2800 to 800+. bandit ringleaders and warlords went from 5: my fatigue cannot regenerate fully. it regenerates to about 90% and stops there forever. even restorative spells do nothing whatsoever. health and magicka do not share this problem. 6: this i think is closest to the problem. whenever i start up my game, and load from ANY save, i get a mysterious and cryptic warning screen, telling me that pluggy save somethingother doesnt match pluggy.ess or something, and that pluggy is being zeroed or ignored. i have no idea what this means. it tells me some reason might be that saves were moved. they weren't. or that a save manager might have done something pluggy didnt expect. i use the most recent Streamline. cant imagine why that would cause a problem. in an effort to fix these problems, ive done a whole bunch of things. ive Bashed it 10 times, each time slightly altering my merged mods, removing anything i could imagine as being the problem (Script Optimizer and A Blood Mess have been eliminated, even thought neither were new). the only new mods i have not yet accused are content mods that, so far as im aware, contain NO global scripts, and whose content i am not even using. as a possible lead, i noticed in my efforts to get Consume Enchantments to work, i had a constant and hidden bonus to my Blade skill. not sure where it came from. as i am using Kobu and Ely's uncapper, i can get over 100 blade, and had this, but i also had 1 or 2 points of fortification on top of this that didnt appear in my list of persistent effects. I loaded an earlier game, the save i had made just BEFORE leaving, and this mysterious quantity was not apparent. thanks for your help, anyone who has the slightest idea what is goiong on here >_____< Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wrye Bash warned me about Windfall being incompatible, so i disabled it and loaded a previous save, and most things started working again. Deadly Reflexes definitely worked, and the crashes abated quite a bit. I fixed the fatigue and bizarre skill bonus with UOP, and discovered that now Consume Enchantments kinds works, allowing me to gain skill and stat bonuses, but still not displaying them on the permanent effects tab. even re-enabling all the OTHER mods i disabled (running revisited, Consume Enchantments) didnt re-break the game, so it definitely appears windfall was the culprit which is a shame, because it seems fairly popular. i guess i dont have to thank anyone for this. it was all me =/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
