enhanced visuals

hi.

so is anyone working on a mod to improve the visuals?

something like NMC's texture pack for FO3.

Smaller mods that just focus on a specific point (weapons, faces etc) are fine, but anyone doing something big that improves the whol vegas wasteland?

I am porting my F3 TexMesh Textures (not meshes) and my F3 HiRes Textures over right now. Then I will be converting the new textures that F:NV introduces to the same standards. If you have a good rig with plenty of RAM then the full HiRes package improves things quite a bit.

i found a great one that fixes a lot of the stuttering but you will still have 'a little hitch in your get up' but it does fix most unreasonable and unruly stutters. Like in the goodsprings fight and other specific areas. Just search 'd3d9' and it's called something like 'd3d9 perf fix'. Doesn't require you to replace files or anything. Hopefully that's the kind of thing you're looking for. If not either way I recommend that file for everyone as I have a high end computer and it still tends to slow down sporadically.

Sorry I did not respond sooner, but the watch I put on this thread is tied to my 'other' email account and not my main one.

There is a major fix by monochrome witch that allows your system to use more than 2GB of your RAM. That should take care of micro-stuttering.

The D3D9 fixes come with a price. See www.tweakguides (their main page) for more info. Basically most of the problems have been traced to Obsidian's major improvement to F3, the facial animation (like back in F1/F2 when you had taking heads and could tell if they were P.O'd at you). By disabling it the game becomes much more playable (tweakguides tells you how).
