How do I use "In-Game" weapon MODs ???

In the game, I found a silencer for the 10mm pistol, how do I attach it TO the pistol so I can actually use it ???

 

Is this the same for the other weapon MODs ???

select the weapon from your PIP and pres X while still having it selected, it will bring up the weapon mod controls.
