So my idea is that rather then choose which side you want, you choose from the beginning, and the beginning plays out like fallout 3. You're born and you grow up, but each side as a unique storyline. As of now, I've only thought of how to do this (story-wise anyway) for the NCR and Caesars Legion. For the NCR, you're born in a small town east of the Colorado River in Nevada. You grow up on your parents farm, learning to use a gun and survive off the land, or something like that. I'll come up with more specifics if this actually takes off. Anyway, when you're in your lets say early twenties, you start to hear rumors about the legion. People start to head west just in case they do show up, but some people stay, including you and your family. Then one night, you wake up to the sound of screams, and men pounding on your door. You wake up and grab your gun, but the legion has already busted down the door, they kill your parents, and you're next. You run out the backdoor, the legionaries in pursuit. You fight and evade the rest of the night and manage to escape, but you've suffered near fatal injuries in your retreat. You stagger on for days, using your basic knowledge of the local plants to treat your wounds and stay alive as best you can. Eventually, you make it to what will later become the site of the Mojave Outpost where you collapse in the sand, starved, dehydrated, and bleeding to death. The last thing you see before passing out are the boots of an NCR ranger rushing over to you. You wake up in a medical tent days later, and vow to take your revenge against the legion, and enlist in the NCR. I would also like to include the NCR's initial move into Nevada in this, and have this story end where the default one in New Vegas begins. That's just the beginning, and I plan on incorporating the first battle of hoover dam into this for both sides.

 

The legion one isn't quite as complex. Basically, you're born in a legion camp, grow up training, and take place in the legions conquests all the way up to the first battle, of hoover dam, which you're one of the few survivors of. The beginning isn't as complex or long as the NCR path but there would be A LOT more action. Whereas the NCR beginning focuses more on story in the beginning, the legion one would be all about action. The legion has conquered 86 tribes if I remember right, and you'd get to take place in those conquests. Not sure how many.

 

This was inspired by the fact that you can't actually join the factions, and the lack of overall fighting between the two of them. There's a few quests that pit them against each other, but for the most part there's never any REAL battles in my opinion. I have no modding abilities whatsoever so I'm looking for people that would be willing to undertake a task like this. The more the merrier. Also, I will be handling all aspects of the story and dialogue, but thats not to say I'd ignore anyones ideas. If you've got a good idea for parts, or even all of one the storylines I'd be glad to hear them.

 

Also an important side note, I have New Vegas on the xbox 360 due to the fact that my graphics card died and I have been unable to get a new one and with my current system I'd be playing at the very lowest settings and still probably be lagging. So the only thing I can provide are ideas and plot/dialogue
