Map items to hot keys

Hi,

 

The idea is pretty simple: instead of having to open the pipboy to change weapons, use a stimpack etc., the mod allows assigning items to hot keys (preferably the number keys).

PS Apologies in advance if this is a duplicate request (or the mod already exist), the idea seems obvious enough, although my brief searching didn't yield anything.

That's already in the game. Hover your mouse over the item you want to hotkey, then hold the number you want to apply it to and click the item while holding the number. Then exit your pipboy and hit the number and it should equip the weapon chose.

I realized this after I told a friend about the idea and he laughed at me :(. Thanks for the awesome reply and not calling me an idiot (which I guess would be deserved) :).
