Deleted5094879User Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Hello everyone. So I will say first, yes my Skyrim game is modded, No I don't have an ENB(I do have Sweet FX though). I have roughly 74 mods running and 86 plugins (This accounts for many patches but not the few that aren't enabled. My PC Specs are:CPU: i7 2600 @ 4.0ghzGPU: R9 290x MSI Twin FrozrPSU: RM750 16GB Ram I don't have ENBoost running because I tend to not see how it helps. So would that many mods really limit my performance? Not really anything texture or new model wise, least not to the extreme.I'll post a screenshot in case that helps. I haven't really done much testing with Vanilla Skyrim. After all this rambling if it is not clear what I wish to know, I don't blame you if you didn't understand it. TLDR:1. Shouldn't those specs be enough to have an amazing FPS in skyrim?2. Does that amount of mods really drain the FPS?3. If yes to question 2, which mods would be best to get rid of? Including the SweetFx as a mod.

KimberJ Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 You didn't describe what is happening. My example, I got a Evga 570 GTX 4Gb, an grass/trees an underground drops frames while locked to 30 FPS. I use 30 cause I made films while locked to 24 FPS for a while an just got used to it, also from Xbox 360 an PC being a more stable 30, an 30 just generally keeping the heat down on this card, cause it was expensive at the time moving to a medium powered handbuilt rig. The answer for me is just to find what is causing the drop an optimize it out. Tree draw distance dropped at first, so lowered that, but I think I forgot that I increased the grass thickness *burp* causing lag. Then I got increased spawns, but I think it's causing crashes an not so much graphical lag. Then I messed up the particle max amount (which is rumored to not mess with) making me think the underground frame drops are from that if not the oversized or non optimized underground texture packs. This card is two years old, but I limit to 30 fps. I got tons of performance intensive mods, though I also got the vanilla texture optimizer mod, that unpacked an repacked the vanilla .BSA though 3000 of those are invalidated by 20Gb + of loose files (I had to unpack to fix the install, cause I messed up the order) Anyway, it's kind of what you wanted to hear, it's just that you might have to fix it, or get a baseline on the vanilla game. Start a new game an see what happened as well, I had to start like 20 new games until I got a stable build.Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espHearthFires.esmUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espApachiiHair.esmClimatesOfTamriel.esmdaymoyl.esmAP Skyrim.esmhdtHighHeel.esmSummerWear.esmJSwords.esmSkyUI.espWhen Vampires Attack.espRun For Your Lives.espDr_Bandolier.espJBS_banking_redux.espSimpleTaxes.espBring Out Your Dead.espDead Body Collision.espDeadlyDragons.espDeadlyMonsters.espwizDynamicThings.espExtra Guards.espWork a Steady Job as a Blacksmith.espBetter Favor Jobs.espBrawl Bugs CE.espvImmersiveBeds.espvImmersiveBeds - HFDG.espSkyRealism - Encumbrance.espFightingFatigue.espJSwordsDistributionBalancePlugin.espJSwords_Load_Screens.espgun.espApocalypse - The Spell Package.espApocalypse - More Apocalypse.espgoldpiles.espGuard Dialogue Overhaul.espHothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.espHothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espImmersive Weapons.espGold to Septims.espLayDown.espSit Anywhere.espdragonsoulgem.espLong lost smelters by Hyralux.espDr_ItemBones.espPopulated Cities 2.espNorthern Bathhouses.espCannabis.espCannabisUpdate.espSkyhighrim.espSkyhighrimDBPatch.espRealisticRoomRental.espImmersive Sounds - Footsteps.espLife In Prison.espASX_Spells.espFNISspells.espFNISSexyMove.espStrapOnbyaeonv1.1.espCharmingHighHeels.espGeta.espTERAArmors_CBBE.espSweet&Sexy Lingerie.espSummerWearSA.espCraftablePantysCBBEv3M.espRAS - Riverwood CharGen.espRandom Alternate Start.espSkyrimMoreSpawns.espThe Dance of Death - Ultimate Edition.espHeadtracking.esptowConversation.espFCO - Follower Commentary Overhaul.espBijin Warmaidens.espUFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.espUFO - Dawnguard AddOn.espUFO - Heartfire AddOn.espJewelCraft.espSkyFalls + SkyMills.espWeapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.espWeapons & Armor_TrueOrcish&DaedricWeapons.espWeapons & Armor_DragonPriestMasks.espWeaponsArmorFixes_ImmersiveWeapons_Patch.espClothing & Clutter Fixes.espSmithing Perks Overhaul_Remade.espTradeBarter.espComplete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.espCCO_WAFTrueWeapons_Patch.espthrowingweapons.espAMB Glass Variants Lore.espDifferently Ebony.espaMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.espChesko_Frostfall.espCloaks.espCloaks - Dawnguard.esp1nivWICCloaksCRAFT.espCCO_Frostfall_Patch.espHarvestOverhaul.espHarvestOverhaulCreatures.espRaceMenu.espRaceMenuPlugin.espApachiiHelmetWigs.espTheEyesOfBeauty.espTrueBrows.espSPTConsistentOlderPeople.espImmersive Scars.espScars of Skyrim.espDart'sMakeUpColorsAll.espCalienteVanillaArmorTweaks.espCookingExpanded.espCookingExpanded - Dragonborn.espCookingExpanded - Hearthfire.espDftT.espDftT-NGP-WTLS.espDftT-NoGreenPact.espDftT-WTLS.espHighlandFarmMilk.espSFO - Expanded Diversity.espSkyrim Flora Overhaul.espiNeed.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espdD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.espdD-Larger Splatter Size.espSMIM-Merged-All.espRealisticWaterTwo.espRealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.espRealisticWaterTwo - Dawnguard.espRealisticWaterTwo - Dragonborn.espRealisticWaterTwo - Waves.espRealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Dawnguard.espBathing in Skyrim - Main.espBathing in Skyrim - Water for Realistic Water Two (Vanilla).espBathing in Skyrim - Water for Realistic Water Two (Legendary).espEnhancedLightsandFX.espELFX - Dawnguard.espELFX - Dragonborn.espRRR_ELFX-Patch.espScenicCarriages.esp3DNPC.espRRR_3DNPC-Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dungeons-Hazardous.espClimatesOfTamriel-Interiors-Cold.espClimatesOfTamriel-Nights-Level-5.espClimatesOfTamriel-Sound.espClimatesOfTamriel-Sound-Dawnguard-Patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.espSupreme Storms - Cot Version.espRainbows.espShootingStars.espBetter Dynamic Snow.espWetandCold.espWetandCold - Ashes.espEnhancedWetnessandPuddles.espPayToLevel.espBashedEdited.espMergePatch.espLFox Alchemists Have Ingredients Ultra.esp
Deleted5094879User Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 It was more of a general question.Randomly my fps will seem to drop to 45-56 range from 56-62 range. My camera also doesn't seem to be very smooth when moving, this could simulate fps drop to me I guess? I dropped the plug ins from 86 to 68. Ideally I'd like to have a steady 60 FPS and a low performance ENB (to fix shadows and bloom etc), and not blurry textures with a smooth camera. So:1. is there something to make my camera smooth? Right now its a little jagged when I move.2. Will ENBoost actually help these problems? If so is there somewhere for good user settings for AMD?
KimberJ Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Uh an adaptive framerate, so it goes vsync to save power an unlocks to gain it? Typically though I think Enb locks to 30 FPS, technically you only need 24 FPS, but 30 compared to 24 is like comparing 30 to 60. The thing is it's only what you are used to playing on. If you go around on 60 on every game then you won't like 30, but you gota play it enough to get used to it. You could tweek the settings cause you're prolly running around on ultra or max sliders, but there's other stuff inside the .ini, an example use skyrim config, or same thing for other beth games just *insert game name* config. Some cities take more computer power to run than others, it's not like it's an all static benchmark. All I was sayin is that it's not the mods cause plenty of folks are using 100 150 or more mods on old rigs. *burp* You can insist on 60 FPS if you like. If it were me I'd look at the GPU temps. At least with this one performance degrades with heat along with the lifespan of the card, that's only if you bomb it though. You can also ruin the card by heating it up an cooling it off, over an over, just like the rest of the computer. I reckon it's like the CPU's when it get's hot it slows down to protect itself from frying. Pretty much for me the heat determines the framerate. Cause it's an easy way to lower it. Though mostly it just avoids performance loss due to heat. Save 5 or 10 degrees an you're further away from that point. I reckon this card does it over 70 C but some people run them at 90 an those people also prolly do drugs an overclock the GPU an stuff, besides saying druggie things. Anyway, Skyrim doesn't run that fast in vanilla, *laughing* Well not really, at least in the development of mods there's mods all over claiming optimization, hinting that people had problems with it. I run a baseline though. Using a -3.00 LOD bias (making skyrim grab texture mip maps 3 sizes larger) runs fine at 60 FPS or 30, but the vanilla texture optimized mod would help that. Just you know playing vanilla Skyrim. Listed here just cause if you had a base, then you would have a basis for saying the framerate or camera is glitching out. Though I would think most of that would have to do with the settings an tweeks for the game. I know the camera an game have micro stutter in some areas looking at grass, just got to localize it to something to null it. You know if 98% of the time it doesn't do it why bother fixing it. I saw it walking up the hill to solitude from cart outside the walls. That hill an that grass just micro stutters. They linked it to input lag in the past or max pre rendered frames. The other stuff to do with it is far to advanced for me to bother even learning, you might need it depending. Hyper Treading causes graphical lag according to Tom's Hardware's study of that in the past, this was 2-3 years ago though. Then I don't log framerate, just heat an fan speed. I used to cause I filmed, but I stopped cause I need more storage to really film stuff to share. Need a editor too.
Deleted5094879User Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Okay well, I had sweetFX on and apparently that doesn't Like Afterburner. So I wasn't able to monitor my FPS as a accurate number.I installed ENBoost and checked with that FPS counter.I get 70-120FPS outside running up to Dragon Reach. But 40-70 running down from Dragon Reach.Indoors I hit 300FPS but reguardless of the FPS my camera stutters. Any fix for this?I'll be turning VSync on but I don't think that is the problem
Nozzer66 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 You don't want FPS that high. FPS >100ish can and has been known to cause issues with Havok physics, so you'll open doors and the clutter items will throw themselves off shelves and the like. Personally 45-56 is pretty good for some heavy places, like the dragonreach steps looking over whiterun etc.

I'd just like a constant 60 and smooth camera movement :/ possibly an enb too.
