Custom NPCs with pale faces

I'd be interested to know whether anyone else can confirm this, but I'm finding that the game engine is not displaying the custom facial texture hue for any custom NPC that I create in GECK, leaving their faces looking very pale.

The texture colouring chosen in GECK is certainly there, as mastering the .esp forces the game to colour their body appropriately, just as it did in Fallout 3 when fixing the issue of bodies not matching the face texture colouring. But in Fallout NV the reverse becomes true and I end up with a NPC with a pale face and darker body.

It must be something to do with the NV game engine itself, as in GECK itself the face texture hue displays correctly. In game though it's ignored for the face.

One thought I had was that maybe the specific race default facial hue was being used instead of the NPC's override. But even changing that makes no difference either.

I can't see why it's anything system based, like graphics drivers, as I don't see the same behaviour in Fallout 3. That's just fine. I did update the drivers anyway, but that made not one jot of difference.

Has anybody else played around with custom NPCs and seen this?

Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if it doesn't...

I'm assuming from the lack of comment that no-one else has seen this, which is bizarre given what I've found.

The problem is an ini file setting. In my Fallout3 'fallout.ini' I had the following set:

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1

However, in the default NV 'fallout.ini' it's set as:

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=0

Changing it to '1' fixed the pale faces in game.

Hopefully this will help someone else should they find themselves with the same issue.

Thanks for posting this - I noticed it last night on an NPC I am working on - darkened the skin tone a bit - looks good in the Geck, put pale in-game.
