stuck at character creation screen

Hi, I recently started skyrim and i got stuck at the character creation section of the game. A friend of mine helped me install a couple of recommended mods, and the game runs fine, up till the character edit scene.

 

works properly:

1) intro scene (horse drawn carriage and stuff)

2) name calling scene

3) character edit sliders

4) press r to name and finish

5) i can input a name

6) slot selection window came up and i could click a slot.

 

not working:

7) character name that i input does not register. Character name at the bottom remains as prisoner, or completely blank. (i did not input a blank selection)

:cool: i cannot go back, or progress forward from the character edit scene.

 

No. 1-8 are in sequential order of what happens after i start a game. i am able to save my game during the name calling scene, and i am able to load it, but i will be stuck at the character edit scene every time i load it.

 

Attached are the active mods that my friend has installed for me. I have yet to touch any of them.

I am so sorry, i left out my computer's information.

 

I have an asus laptop with a 2.2 ghz i7, 2gb nividia graphics card and 8gb of ram. i do have around 400gb of free hard disk space in my computer, if that would help.
