Kathalie
I have not played Skyrim in a long time because my computer was heavily plagued with bluescreens when playing anything but the least demanding games due to a hardware issue.Just a couple days ago I finally got a new computer. Now I want to play Skyrimg again, but not without my mods.A long time ago someone recommended I use Mod Organizer over Nexus Mod Manager, which I found to be a good recommendation. Since its been so long since I last played I have forgotten how it set up MO after installing it.I tried following the tutorial coming with MO, but when I come to the point where I'm asked to download a mod I run into problems. What I do and what happens is as follows.I open the nexus mods site for Skyrim.I choose a mod for download.I click on "Download with manager"I get an error saying "The address type is unknown or unsupported" with a further description saying that the page I'm trying to access is unavailable.I tried with several different mod, I get the same error every time. I think the problem here is that I have not set up MO properly for use, and that is causing the problem, however I have no idea how to get it to work.As Since I only had the computer for 2 days, so I have a clean install of everything, no old stuff to cause conflicts or other problems. I'm hoping the community here can help me get started. Edited January 28, 2015 by Kathalie

Kathalie
I watched the videos for how in set up MO and how to install mods.I followed the instructions to the letter.Unfortunately it does no solve my problem.I'm not sure if the problem is with MO or if its something else. I can download the mods manually, but I cannot download using MO.If I click the button "Download with Manager" I get the same error as I described in my OP.It suggests to me there is a problem with the link for the "Download with Manager" button somewhere, or with the link between that button and MO. Still I appreciate the link, as some of the later videos describes puligs/mods for MO/Skyrim, that I had trouble understanding or getting to work in the past, so I'll look at them once this problem is solved. CreativeB34ST
I've been using Mod Organizer a lot for a very long time and I've never run into such problem. Downloading mods with the "Download with manager" buttons works just fine for me. The problem seems really strange tho cuz I don't think you have to set something up like this. For now I suggest you download them manually and do right click > install mod. The only thing that I can think of is that you didn't put your login credentials in your settings, but that should give a different error. Try it anyways: Configure settings and workarounds > Nexus. Also try clicking the button 'Associate with "Download with manager" links' if you haven't already. Also if you're running into some problems with FNIS, post here too, I could help you out with that as well. Kathalie
While watching the videos, I used the same mod as the one in the video.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36370/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D36370&pUp=1 When I click "Download with Manager" one of two things happen. 1. A "loading" icon pops up on the screen for a brief moment and then nothing more happens.2. I get the following error(Using Opera Browser). The address type is unknown or unsupportedYou tried to access the address nxm://Skyrim/mods/36370/files/1000031174, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page. Like you I have used MO for a long time, and never seen this problem before, I tried with different browsers to see if it was a browser issue, but its the same there.I'm completely baffled as to what the problem could be, do you think it would help if I installed NMM?Is there anything else that could cause problems, such as anti-virus or Windows firewall? CreativeB34ST
I just tested that mod you linked and it works fine for me. If I were you I wouldn't change back to NMM for this problem tho. I suggest to try contacting the owners of MO as they know more about what this error might be caused by. Btw: am I correct when I'm assuming your new computer is running on Mac OS? Maybe that's the problem, defenitely not sure tho. CreativeB34ST
Like I said, try contacting the uploader of MO on the Nexus site. I looked it up and it seems to be Tannin42. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging§ion=send&do=form&fromMemberID=1100552 Don't forget to provide screenshots. Good luck! Kathalie
Issue has been resolved.I followed the link to the MO forums sticked at the top of the comments section for MO, should have done that from the start. There I found a sticky post about the same problem I have only with Google Chrome.http://forum.step-project.com/topic/4736-google-chrome-cant-download-from-skyrim-nexus-using-mo/ Solution:Go to your ModOrganizer directory and run the nxmhandler application. If the program is pointing to Mod Organizer, click the Register Active button, click yes at the prompt, and close. If the program is not pointing to Mod Organizer, right-click in the window and select Add, select the game you are handling, browse to the appropriate ModOrganizer.exe application, click OK, click the Register Active button, click yes at the prompt, and close.Thank you everyone for trying to help.
