Crafting .308 ammo ~ Where to find .308 cases?

So I finally got myself a hunting rifle, still no sniper rifle, but it's a step up from the varmint rifle at least. Problem is, lack of ammo. However it doesn't seem possible to craft more .308 cases, so are they only/mainly rare finds, or from merchants?

 

Is it possible to buy them in bulk? (Preferably the cases, not just .308 ammo.) I'm aware of the gun runners store, but havn't reached there yet.

Ive ran across a few rounds here and there on the wastes but Yo wont find real stocks of it outside of the Gunrunners or Crimson caravan in my experience

I was summoned by Caesar to take a ferry to his Fort on the other side of the Colorado so I made that trip. On my way down I explored all unknown locations in that general direction until I found a site overlooking the Cove where I was to meet the contact. It was there I found the Gobi Scout Rifle, a fantastic non-silenced sniper rifle with a desert camo print. It was the first sniper rifle I found and the only rifle I have used. Until I find a unique Anti-Material Rifle that is.

Also wanted to add that if you take the Hand Loader perk, you will find more Ammo components on dead bodies as well as recover your own spent brass. etc.
