My game crashes on startup

My game crashes on startup, its a clean fresh install yet it dose not wont to start. I think it may be related to the same cause as to the failure of my office 2007 program to start, any ideas on what is causing it and how to fix it.

 

Please help

 

pc setup:

Core i7 2.66ghz

4Gb ram

1x 10,000rpm 150 gig velociraptor

1x 1terabyte 7200rpm

1x GTX280 GPU

Windows XP Home

Do you know what your graphics card is cause most nvidia have that problem thats what i have and ive hade no such luck in finding a fix

Have you two tried the nvidia .dll fix and updated your video card drivers?

Crashing how? As in it gives you an error and says "not responding" on the task bar? Or do you click "Play" and nothing happens?

 

If it doesn't start and you're using mods it could be because of the modified .ini files. Follow my guide to see if that helps.

If it's actually CTD'ing and giving you actual errors, as opposed to not running, try getting the .dll fixes and finding some drivers that work good. Nvidia cards are having problems right now.
