Black eyes on random NPC's

I want to give all of the family (ie Vance and others) black eyes. Im doing this in the GECK and added the black eye colour to all the races. Then add the eyes to each of the Family members, but for random NPC's that don't chose an eye colour by default have the black eyes, I do not want this.

 

Is the only way to give the black eyes to the NPC's I want and not to random NPC's, to create a custom race and then add the Family and black eyes to them. If I did this would it mess up any of the vanilla scripting. Or is there another way?...
