So I don't have the skill to make this but I know it would be a very nice add-on to vegas. I wrote it all in notepad and saved it, any questions ask! :D

Rancher Mod

 

Use abandoned ranch terrain

 

Buy cattle and longhorns

Collect milk from cattle

long horns and brahman can be sold to the slaughter house for caps

long horns and brahman can reproduce having a baby that grows to adult in 1 week

Ranch Hand in home

Are you sure sir? New-borns can take up to 1 week to mature (Yes | I've Changed my mind)

Ranch Hand will inform you of random events such as losing livestock to bad weather, sickness, or predators... oh and the

 

occasional nightkin raging about moomoos. (rare events, predators and nightkin(extremely rare) can be exterminated by you or

 

go away on their own eventually, but youll suffer heavy losses. Bad weather suffer light losses and disease must be fixed

 

with meds.. not sure which meds)

 

Upgrades

 

Upgrading your ranch to have pure water (less chance of disease) Wind Power (generate electricity to power defense turrets)

 

Defense turrets (keeps away predators, until destroyed, no effect on nightkin) Tree line (sets up trees around the area to

 

lower the chance of losing livestock due to weather)

Workbench, campfire, reloading station.

 

 

Farmer Mod

 

Takes place on abandoned farmstead

 

empty plots act as containers in which you put plant harvests (fruit, seeds, etc) crop grows to contain 12 of what you put in

 

it. Player must water daily and weed the plots (no graphic needed, just name change on plot to have (weeds) at the end, if

 

left unattended (overun) stopping growth.

 

Comes with campfire.

 

Upgrades

 

Can buy additional plots

Can buy watermill (auto waters your crops)

Can hire a farmhand (auto weeds, will also harvest and replant for you, dialogs saying, "how are you today boss" and then

 

opens his inventory so you can grab your harvest)

Workbench, reloading station.

This idea is quite similar to one I posted as well (The Rancher - brahmin trade empire). I'd love to see these ideas combined and made a reality. Your ideas on ranch management are really good, the only thing I would suggest to change is the buying of plots etc. In the empty areas of the wasteland such as ruined farms there isn't anyone to buy the land from. It makes more sense to me that you'd be claiming the land and instead hiring locals to help you build it, and buying materials from other towns. It would probably mean adding some new npc's and/or extending the dialogue of existing ones in nearby towns. Edited by Drakkaran
