Is it possible...

Is it possible to disable the romance options for the four characters that can be romanced? If so, what files should I be looking into to change? In other words, I want platonic relationships only with "Friendly" as the maximum allowable relationship level. No I am not being prudish but if any of you have looked at the image share lately you will understand why I wish to do this.

The question is now answered at least in part. It is possible. I have killed the romance (my ex-wife would be so proud) but oddly the kiss option is still available from a friendly state. I can live with that but I'm going to need to do some testing on a fresh game to ensure that the sex scenes don't play. I'm a lot closer than I was five days ago though.

@RB;

Just curious, since the PC is never FORCED (by the game) into a Romance, (well, I understand that the unwary can find themselves ninja'd by Leli! ) what is the point of "killing" the option? I mean, can't you "Just say no..."?

I can, the issue comes when I release the mod and others play it. Some may do it inadvertently and find themselves in a situation that they object to and others may be degenerate perverts and seek to abuse. Neither is acceptable so I need to kill the romance (sex scenes.) I realize that they are always going to be fully clothed but they will still go through the motions. I just don't want the pervs messing with these:

Ok, first off, I want to applaud you on the initiative to try to avoid that kind of conflict there RB.

You're also going to have to make sure that the mod only applies to the child characters. Basically, so that disabling the mod, turns adult relationships back on. However, I've got no idea of how to do that.

Now, that said....

I am by NO MEANS saying that this is not a cool idea. I am only pointing this out to those who might make expansions on this mod, or others like it, once it's released.

The staff is currently reviewing new rules for governing mods in which children are included. This has so far been quite limited to Morrowind/Oblivion and FO genre games. Because those already have playable children, or affect children already in the game.

Mods which pertain to nude textures for child characters are most certainly going to be removed from the site. And may even go further into textures which put them into skimpier underwear, on a case by case basis.

Armor/clothing mods which put child characters in a "sexy fashion" are also most likely going to be removed from the site. Such as skimpy swimsuits, adult style negligee, and some of the similar styles of clothing armor which have been posted for "grown up" characters. For instance, putting them into garters and stockings... its most likely going to be taken off the site.

It is not an initiative, it is an imperative; if I can't block the sex scenes it's not getting released. I can do it, it is just a matter of how difficult they made it to do and what I am going to have to script around to do it.

I have that part already figured out. It won't even conflict with DA Redesigned and will hopefully work with Ser Gilmore. The characters that I affect will be overriden and the rest will show up. Remove the mod and everything is back to normal.

The way the game handles children and armor/clothing mods is you see the kids as you do in the pic and the armor is hidden. Children always are wearing their clothes and unless someone comes along and makes a new mesh for them that is how it will always be. In an unaltered approval/romance state, what you see in one of the game's racy scenes is two kids grinding against each other in clothes - unacceptable for anything I care to release but I would appreciate any input and advice from staff as to what I am ultimately unable to remove (hopefully just limited to some kissing.)

Edited for spelling/context: Damn you spellcheck :verymad:

I all have to say to Rusty and that new policy Darke is talking about is THANK YOU! Playing as the kids would be funny, having the adult things happen and having some perv dress them as sluts would not. I applaud you Rusty. *nods head*

XT- Of course :)

Which is what my statement to modders, was about. I just wanted to let modders that would take up the project of the meshes and textures to consider using moderation, keeping those meshes and textures conservative, and to not getting to carried away with them, as they would probably end up getting removed from the site.

RB- I've put in the information about your question to the other members of the staff. And I dont want to comment further on that, till I've got more information.

My own personal concern is people using luchaire's scenes with your mod. The ones that replace the kiss scenes with her custom scenes.

However... I can say right now, that people doing that will be labled as "personal use" and will not be the fault of the original modder (you). As the staff, its not our place to tell people what they can and can't do in their own homes, on their own computers. So that kind of behavior would come down to the personal user, not to our function as site protectors.
