NCR ranger armor + helm retext

I've been trying to look into retexturing the NCR ranger armor myself; to have the helm lens be tinted blue instead of red.

 

But for some reason the files themselves don't want to work in my photoshop =/ (I have CS4 AND the nvidia plugin so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong)

 

But what I'm looking for is the armor itself on the coat to have affiliation or any logos removed from it and to look like it was made with black leather (I guess recolored to a light black or something) to give it more of a mercenary feel but still appear to be slick and dressed ready to take on the desert.

 

anyone up for the (I've been told its simple) task? I'd do it but photoshop hates me, plus I lack artistic talent that I couldn't hold a candle to some of the modders here.

Actually I already found a decent mod a few hours after post and it will probably get updated to give other lens colors. Unless you want to give it a shot.

Looks good! Maybe just have the helmet toned a bit blacker (but not 100% to the point its just solid black) to look more like atypical merc gear, can go ahead and upload it and I'll try it out. :biggrin:

I re-textured the armor again. I hope its dark enough for you. :confused:

wow! very nicely done! My only vice is the helmet lenses need to be just a bit brighter and fill more of the goggles a little bit (unless in your opinion it wouldn't look as good but otherwise I like this!)

 

And I wanted it to be a separate item from the actual NCR armor, so those guys wear read and I wear blue but I can actually fix that myself. Thanks!

No problem. I really tried to make sure everything was crisp as it could be, you might notice that the goggles lenses might run a bit. You will see exactly what I mean if you look at the texture very closely. BTW the helmet is separate from the armor. I added the items in game myself and they were 2 items.

 

Do whatever you want with this. Really didn't take me more then half an hour to make so, make a better mod out of it ect.... Anything I do this simple really doesn't need any permissions attached to it. :laugh:

Gratz. I've never had a problem with Gimp. I just do not use it since i have Photoshop. I've tried it but couldn't really get into it as I had a program I know how to use quite well. xD
