No location markers on compass

Hi,

 

I've been having a hard time unlocking fast travel routes, The icon on the compass isn't showing where to walk to make the fast travel unlock for that area. Like red rock canyon, which is a pain to keep running to without fast travel.

 

I use UI organizer.

I've just tried the console command tmm 1 with no success.

I installed OneHud, which didn't fix it.

I tried tried Darnui with onehud compatibility, and that didn't work either.

I'd start a new game, with the mods disabled, tmm 1, killall, or tgm. Get drunk in the game, an drink like 6000 of something. *burp* then turn on half the mods, an load it, bam MM still there, bam other half, no MM it's gota be in the lower half *burp* That or just set FNVedit to filter to only view mapmarker references, then batch copy all of them to the end, an download a map marker mod. That adjusts an adds more.

Hud was less forgiving in the past games like FO3 an FNV. It's basiclly removing Hud mods, not sure how it would be related to map markers or the map, if it's even releated at all.

 

there's a map marker form, where the basic item is created, then the hundreds of references placed in the world, which is just hidden markers, that the PC travels there or travels there an it links to an actor marker an arrow that points the direction to stand. Most of the time you can use the community editor, not the SDK, to filter the whole load order for a particular content type. Map markers would be in worldspace.

 

The filter would contain flatten blocks/Sub-Blocks, an flatten cell children? Then EditorID contains an type mapmarker, then wait an go look in worldspace for the mapmarker references. Hopefully open the trees an then draw a marque select on the left window as large as possible so the box will grab the references, an then check to see if they are all mapmarkers (cause we check our work lots) then copy as override into a new file, an pretty much just name the file "mapmarker override" load it last, or use it to find the mods that screwed them up, cause it would turn those red. I don't have FNV installed, but I might do one tonight, an I could batch make one, an upload it to the page here, but Idk if I'll do that or not yet.

I think what has happened is the per the title quest markers have been removed from the compass? That's a .ini setting I believe. Then the map markers being off, isn't in the world, it's in your map. Which I think is controled via the worldspace ratio size setting. That or it's a uncompatible texture size for that ratio setting. which is how it's displayed near the general area of the actual marker in the world. That or you installed multiple Ui mods that conflicted an overwrote each other. If it's in Ui just get the Ui mod that merges them all together, an if you already got that, idk start over with it cause you messed it up. You know, like uninstall those or try installing them again.

At first i only used the UI organizer and nothing else, and i tried removing that. I tried UI mods to fix the issue, which it didn't. Some locations such as Cottonwood Cove, Forlorn Hope and Camp Golf wont unlock at all, I've noticed that once a location is found the location marker will appear on the compass but undiscovered ones wont.

I'll try another filter, but it looked like it didn't pick up, cause it's basiclly using mapmarker an they didn't put that into all the references, but I can try again, maybe another method. Like one that picks up on all the references using the base form id for the static form, which is what map markers use, but they are custimized durring creation. Cause of the UI thing I just figured it wouldn't help to override them. Some not working at all though kind of makes me suspect it again.
