RedRocketTM
I'm running Oblivion almost perfectly on my system, (full graphics, bloom, no anti aliasing, etc) only sometimes, my computer reboots itself without any reason. I suppose it's one of the mods I'm using, but I don't know, as it is only sometimes, while the game is running great for hours otherwise.(I also cannot go to Imperial City market district directly - If I do, or load a game that is saved there, my computer will reboot in every case. The only way to go there, is by entering the district from another.)Any suggestions what might cause those break downs? Also, if I want to play, I do have to plug in my monitor speakers, and disable my USB headset to have good sound, otherwhise I get terrible noises, scratching and whistleing out of my headphones, while on stereo speakers everything works fine. Is there any general problem with 5.1 sound or USB sound devices at all? Then there's a problem with the "Mountain Tower" Mod I just downloaded. The whole mod is really great - except all three statues, a little part in the pool room and on the rooftop, which appear in a light purple. I guess there are some textures missing, but dunno if I'm the only one having this texture failure. ^^ My system:- AMD Duron 1,8Ghz- ATi Radeon x1600 Pro / Catalyst 6.7 Driver (NET Frameworks 2.0)- 1024 MB Ram- C Media 5.1 Sound Device (onboard) / 5.1 USB Headset- Windows XP Professional SP1- V7 17"TFT Resolution 1280x1024 / Oblivion Resolution by 1024x768 fullscreen(All other programs are closed in order to play without complications, e.g. no virus scanners which might be the cause or something) Any hint or helpful advice would be appreciated.(Even if my problems could be worse, at least I'm stil able to play at all. Hell I'm adicted! ^^")
Dilvish
You probably have your computer set to reboot when there is a system failure. Check the system control panel -> advanced tab -> system failure section If the automatically restart checkbox is checked, it will reboot like you describe. Maybe the system failure is because you have a driver problem. Have you updated your drivers to the newest versions? The sound problems could be driver related too. The missing texture sounds like a the mod is missing a texture or you don't have a texture file installed correctly.

I'd never imagined it was that simple! :DEven if I really got a system failure each time the system was up again. Drivers should all be new, at least I've checked them when this problem appeared a few times. My whole computer is new anyway, it was all I could efford, but it except that it's working fine.
