Meldiocre
hi there. this will be my 5th or so day of pure modding, and ive finally got a clean install, going to try oscuro's one more time before i go jump out my window. this is what my list looks like after installing 1.3, 1.31, 1.32, and 1.33. i would like 2x slower leveling (since i think default oscuro's is 3-4x, which is toooo slow for me) and living economy (which oscuro states in 1.3 needs to be added manually.) http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9928/ooohelp.jpg i see i have an ooo esp file and now an esm file. i also have living economy, and living economy (items). im very confused about what i need to check and what i need to uncheck. i did look at the readme, but theyre not entirely clear. this will be my 3rd install, please help. :(
WastelandAssassin
you must have both the esm and esp for OOO, for it to actually workand the living economy files are for that option, so read what it does, and decide if you want it or not
Meldiocre
i do want it, i was just wondering if i needed to check both of them or if they were duplicates or what. i guess i just dont want to risk something overwriting something else or conflicting or... im a noob with mods. heh. but thanks for telling me about the esp and esm, i appreciate the fast response. now i can get on with installing more mods for the next 8 years. >_<
WastelandAssassin
i have all four of the files running, and it is just finebasically, to prevent such things, you should never manually install mods, and especially such large mods, unless specifically instructed to do sojust you the OBMMs function to create OMODsit will save you a lot of time on removing unwanted mods, and it should help solve such questions like you asked here and it's ok, we all were noobs onceand we (at least some of us) are here to help :)
Meldiocre
see.. im so technologically retarded, when you say "just use the X to create Y" i get scared. i used to use the construction set for morrowind but it's been almost a decade and i forgot everything i ever knew. lol :( sorry for the redundant question. WastelandAssassin
no no, it's not a problem at allyou are supposed to ask such questions, if you don't know the answerit's better to ask a stupid question, than to have a stupid question with no answer, right?? just find the OBMM page (Oblivion mod manager) and read about itit is a great tool for managing your mods, and it helps a lot with adding\removing mods
Meldiocre
oh i definitely use it for some of the other stuff, like qarl's, which i devoutly hope is compatible since it took about 19 millennia to unpack into OBMM. i try to mess with programs and files as little as possible, though. i really dont get in-depth with it. i remember how nice and friendly and helpful everyone was on the official morrowind forums back in the day, and im getting the same vibe here. thank you so much for your help!! hey while i have you, do you have any personal recommendations of stuff you absolutely cant play without? im addicted to mods and always on the prowl. ;D
WastelandAssassin
well, i can't say i have such things on my mind (of course, my mind is mostly filled with Fallout New Vegas......) but there are lots of great mods out therei would recommend the reward leveler, as it allow you to do quests at whatever level you choose, and still be able to get the best rewardsand of course there are many great quest mods, like the Lost Spires, which is so amazing, i'm sure you'll try itand when it comes to item mods, it's about what you like, and what you don't likei really like the Lost Paladins of the Divines, which brings a lot of fun, and a great reward (though it is really hard with OOO, due to lots of enemies in the same place) if you want me to recommend item mods and such, just tell me what you like, and i'll see what i can do :)
Meldiocre
thatd be great. um.. well, i play an aos si (amazing custom race) and i like very exotic, revealing clothing and armor.. not slutty and S&M style, but showing off curves for sure. i like anything like eyes/tattoos that would modify an aos si and be compatible. also i dont like content mods, because i dont trust myself to get through the game content itself, let alone extras. i like things like the difficulty slider remover, although it doesnt work with darnified UI. just little things that tweak gameplay in a sensible way while making my main character beeeeautiful. side note, my boyfriend has been playing new vegas non stop for about a week straight. it looks good, but it's not the genre for me. i like elves and swords. :x
WastelandAssassin
well, i like both :)i'm a man of the world (or one that has a huge fantasy world , take you pick) well, can you be more specific about the kind of clothing you like?? can you give an example?? because it's kinda hard to think of such mods, without really knowing which mods to think ofand about little tweaks, i'm afraid i have very little idea, as i don't really search for such things......
