quick wrye bash question

hi,

 

i have a question about wry bash, which is acting strange on me. for example i have the SM Plugin Refurbish (merged) esp active, but now after having restarted wrye bash some of the checked dlcs are red when i click on it.

what does it mean and is it game breaking? same thing is with the races

for one of my merged companions esp even tho it should be the

exact same master.

 

i want it to show green again.

 

pointing to the masterfiles anew has no effect

whatsoever. what to do?

 

ps: kudos to whoever can point me into the right direction.

Do you have a red check box or is the entire line red? It's likely that you have 2 ESPs sharing the same time stamp, if it's the latter. Re-date one of the ESPs by one second difference and problems solved. You can and should use BOSS to sort your mods and the dates will fix themselves. However you can also manually adjust the time stamp. Use the following steps.

 

-- Right click the ESP in question

-- Highlight File > then click Redate

-- Change time so it doesn't match any other ESP. You only need to change it by 1 second.

-- Click OK

 

Now the line will no longer be red.

 

However if you have a red check box the following applies. Taken directly from the Wrye Bash ReadMe.html

 

• Checkbox Colors Blue Green Orange Red

 

• Checkbox colors indicate the "health" of the mod file's master files.

 

• Blue or Green: Good.

 

• Orange: Some mods have changed order. Oblivion and TESCS will adjust for this when you load. However, if some of the mods that you depend made conflicting changes to the same item, a different mod may now dominate because of the reordering.

 

Red: A master is missing. You should check to make sure that you have not inadvertently renamed or removed the mod.

IIRC, SM Pugin Refurbish (merged) requires that you have all of the DLCs - including Battlehorn. If you do not have them all, Bash should warn of a missing master (red) and you need to use the individual files instead of the merged file.

I do have all DLCs installed. Yep, even the horse armor. :woot: :cool: Now as to the red in here.

 

SM Plugin Refurbished (Merged).esp has been checked and the line of the loadslot is not underlined red. However the box is and when i click on it, then under masterfiles (to the right),

i have the Orrey and Horse Armor green, but the other 7 DLC are showing red.

 

Apparently tho it does not have a diffrence

ingame. Still i dont understand the "conflict".

 

Anyway i will read your post and then brb.

All of the sudden i also got a new issue, where i have 2 loadslots near the end underlined in red, saying: Has the same load order as another plugin.

 

Concerned Plugins are Better Cities-Skyrim Nords and -Vaults.

I can shift things around, but the 2 loadslot (E4 and E5) will stay underlined in nice red colour. No idea whats here.

Edit: I guess this is how onething comes to the other. Funny stuff. I fixed the thing with Better Cities by altering the date on one of the plugins as you suggested.

Pretty weird, but it works for me.

It's means exactly what it was saying. Two plugins are sharing the same load order position. i.e. You had two files in the #1 slot. This happens because of the time stamp. Timestamps determine load order. The oldest time first, the more the time progress the lower in the order. So if you have 2 mods with the date 1/1/2001 12:00 AM they both share the slot. This cannot happen. However renaming by only one second, or minute, will move the mod up or down. 1/1/2001 12:01AM would be slot 2 if 1/1/2001 12:00 AM is slot 1. Make sense?

 

With the SM Plugin Refurbished having a red box, it's missing a master, simple as that. Try the individual plugins instead of the merged one. Or find the missing master. That's all you can do.

Alrighty thanks. Now i got that part. :biggrin: Tho that it just decided from one account on the other to turn red. Wasnt before. Oh well. Learned something. Thats good. Thanks. :thumbsup:

 

I will see through the SM (Merged) Plugin ingame more closely now and continue to merge stuff. Gotta save up on those load slots and since when starting for the first time i did not have any clutter in the log from these quests, im pretty confident that it will also work out like this on closer inspection.

don't load your DLCs via Wrye. i'm not sure why, but i did a full refresh several times and Wrye kept deactivating dlcshiveringisles, ergo, all of the associtated bsa's. just dump the dlcs into the data directory and be done with it. (... and no, LOOT wasn't deactivating them)
