Putting Songs into the game

I'm not a mod creator or anything, just for starting...

 

I think this is the best place to ask about this, so here it goes:

I'm trying to add some songs I have to the Radio Stations, so I can play the game while listening to them without having to keep Itunes openned along... Problem is, I tried and tried and couldn't do it.

 

Is there a way without a mod, or do I need one? If so, can someone make this mod? Like a "add-your-own-songs radio" or something.

I have found a way! Basically you replace the normal radio songs with your own.

 

1. Go into /fallout new vegas/data/sounds/songs/radionv

2. You will see a list of 48 mp3 songs that make up the normal radio station playlist

3. select your own 48 songs and rename them the same name as the game's songs

4. replace the songs in the radionv folder with your own identically named ones (you can make a copy of the original songs if you feel the need)

5. when you play the game turn the radio on to mojave radio station and enjoy

 

I am also working on replacing the background music that comes on during gunfights so that it plays a hard rock song.
