Uploading a mod with FO3 content

I asked on the Bethesda forums if I could Upload my mod here that ports the Assault Rifle, Chinese Assault Rifle, .32 pistol and Combat shotgun but was left a little confused

 

So what better place to ask than where the mod itself will be.

 

Basically am I able to do it without breaching copyright laws and all that? Because while the weapons aren't in the game they are in the game files.

 

better safe than sorry imo

I'm actually confused by this too - why would this be a problem? If they're present in the New Vegas Geck and just not added, there shouldn't be an issue. Technically, they are already in the game.

 

Look at things like unofficial patches that often restore content that was present in the game files, but not present in the game, as in loot tables of these items. If these are assets that are present in the New Vegas GECK and are just not on the loot tables, there shouldn't be a problem with doing it.

 

I think you would need a second opinion though...

This has been asked before, but let's go through it again.

 

As long as the assets are in the GECK, you are free to work with it almost any way you please.

 

In this context, it is of course important to note that almost all Fallout 3 assets are available in Fallout: New Vegas, even if they are not included in the main game.

 

Now, someone go get me my basic assault rifles, introduce a couple of weapon mods for them, and don't forget the Infiltrator.
