!!!! need a key to get onto the strip???

So, quite into the game.... can see Ceasar after NOT blowing up equipment in bunker. (blew up bunker, saw Ceasar, went to strip & killed house - all worked good. decided I didn't like that option)

Go to strip to deliver chip - gate says "need key, cannot pick". tried before going to see Ceasar again, tried after killing Benny in arena. All the same - can't get in.

this same thing just happened to me, did you find a solution?

This just happened to me earlier today. I was given two solutions in another forum. You can use the NCR monorail, or better yet, you can shoot one the the securitrons at long range and then loot the body for the key.

Yeah.... :wallbash: Swallowed hard, went way back to a save game where I could get back in (pretty much right after I got my counterfeit passport :blink: ). My monorail was already blown up.

- Like the Ogre's idea :thumbsup: - too late for me though.

This happened to me on the quest "For the Republic, Part 2". I had saved it while in my suite in the Lucky 38 and was able to go back luckily. What I did initially was collect all my stored items in Lucky 38 and put them in my inventory to sell or move to Novac. I left the Lucky 38 and fast traveled to Novac. After that the gate to New Vegas said it was locked and I needed a key when I tried to go back in..

 

I went back to my save that was in the Lucky 38. Added all but a 3 or 4 items to my inventory to sell or transfer to Novac, exited the Lucky 38, and instead of fast traveling to Novac, I walked to the New Vegas/Freeside gate and exited to Freeside; only then did I fast travel to Novac. The gate to New Vegas doesn't require a key anymore. Random and weird I know but hopefully it will help someone with a similar problem.
