Really stupid question: how do I use mods for NV?

Find your Fallout New Vegas folder in /steam/steamapps/, put mods in /data/ folder there and activate them through "data files" section of fallout launcher.

Which, if it works anything like FOMM did, has a package manager that makes it easy to install/uninstall 99% of the mods on the Nexus.

I am sorry. I tried downloading this sniper gear mod:

And I tried both things, just put it in my data files and then click before running the game and drag and click with mod manager? How would I do that? Do I need to save the to someplace first and then drag and click, open it just with winrar? Sorry for the stupid questions, just frustrating that I can't get such a simple thing to work.

1: Put in Data folder (where FalloutNV.esm is)

2: use FNV Mod manager(a) or FNV Laucher(b)

3a: You normally see A list of file (FalloutNV.esm Mod.esp,....)

check all, be sure FalloutNV.esm is first on the load order.

3b:Go to data file, check the little box left to your mod name.

 

4: play.

OK, I got it. You have to put the ESP thingy in there. That is the key.

when I look in steam aps there is no folder for new vegas although it is installed
